About to purchase a 2001 Turbo Tiptronic what to look for?
Im currently in the process of buying a Lapis Blue/Savannah Beige 2001 Porsche Turbo Tiptronic for my wife. The car has around 15000 miles on it. What are others paying for a car with similar specs? What are some common failures? Anything particular to look for? I'm also having a local porsche dealership do PPI just to be safe.
What are some of the best bang for your buck mods to do? Is there anything I should update on the car to prevent future problems?
Is there any company who will provide a warranty for this car?

yeah just do the PPI and have them make sure the tiptronic tranny is not leaking. I doubt anything is wrong at 15,000 miles.
I would also drive the car and look at the boost gauge on the dash...make sure it only goes up to 0.8 bar...if it goes any higher like to 1.0 bar, the car has been modified (not sure if that is good or bad lol)
FYI..the 2001 tiptronic is not quite as good as the 2002-2005 (they have a newer valve body and tiptronic control unit).
01 tiptronics sell in the US for $38k-$44k depending on mileage etc..
tiptronics are a ton of fun...your best bet is to modify the stock 16 turbos (16G or billets), add an exhaust, tune, plugs, dvs, fpr and you got a very fast car for under $10k
