Which exhaust has the most exotic sound?
#31
Man when i finished getting all the stuff for the engine from Markski i sure will get the exhaust,i've heard so many good things about those exhausts, besides the Fabspeed gen 1 is very good but DRONES HARD.I'm right now getting a few more parts for the engine but to finish it'll take me more time then one year.

Thanks for the feedback guys, that gen 1 system was one of my favorites also and we still get calls all the time for it. I actually still have a few sets left in stock due to the demand for them.
But since we moved to a dual muffler setup now, it just allows for different exhaust designs and eliminates drone while driving. But here is a video of our X Pipe setup for the 996 Turbo and GT2 which sounds awesome. Its available with mini resonators or without.
Thanks,

I really need to listen to your exhaust (and Hector's) before I pick mine.
Now the question is, when?

that new fabspeed x exhaust looks pretty nice... cant tell the sound from a video... problem with tiptronics is I think ALL exhausts drone... Markski has a great looking exhaust also, anyone here have it on a tiptronic?

No doubt. My set-up is a compilation of shelf parts which possible could cause some inefficiency in flow. I make up for some of that in the lack of cats or mufflers.
Your system is the primo exhaust in my opinion, from the design, to the materials, to the workmanship. I have not heard it in person so I can't figure out if it fills that audio void that I try so hard to fill.
I will say I have heard 2 different fabspeed, 3 different speedtech, Remus, FVD, maxspeed, Gemballa and now my super muffler and I like the sound produced by this set-up the best. Like you said though, it's so loud and cell phone conversations are tough. If one could make this exact sound at half volume, the search would be over.
I have had 4 exhausts for the turbo and some sound better than others. None have the sound of an angry exotic... until now.
No cats, no mufflers...
I know this set up very well... but your car is probably too loud for 99.99% of the members. The trick is to get the unlike a standard after market exhaust sound and still be able to talk inside car... I see you used a off the shelf magnaflow X pipe.. only if it was that easy to make... here is what we go thru to make the X.... a painful long process...

Nola,
Our supersport cross-flow pipes with cats would probably be about the sound you're looking for...no mufflers, just smooth flowing full 3" cross-flow pipes

Agreed, but I'll go a step further and say that a GT3 won't do it either. I was at a track day last month, and you could pick out each Ferrari that passed on the straights at WOT without even looking.
