I assume the accelaration did not dispoint. Did it feel heavy?
Traction problems under hard acceleration?
BTW how much was it to rent? That sounds like fun! I bet I would need new tires before returning a rented Viper. I wore through 50% of my rear tires on the skidpacd once...boy was that fun!

What I really hated was the ergonomics. I couldn't get my long legs in without scratching the door panel. With the seat fully back, I didn't has enough legroom. The pedals are way off to the left and you can hit the brake instead of the clutch(painful experiance). What is deplorable is that if you sit up high enough to see safely out the back of the car even with the top down, you are looking at the upper windshield frame and can't see the road ahead without ducking down like a camel!!
Rental was $500 per day.

I flew to Phoenix for a business course so I thought I'd stop in at EVO and visit Todd. What a fun time! It was like Disneyland for Dads! Todd and his 'Dudes' could not have been friendlier. They showed me all the projects they were up to and all the hot upgrades they have. I learnt a ton of things about my car I had not understood before. There is nothing like 'seeing is believing'
I watched them dyno mana's car and got some good video. I drove Todd's beast and both videotaped it and measured the performance with my GPS-powered accelerometer. I also rented a Viper SRT-10 and measured its performance under the same conditions( HOT-93deg F and DRY). I must say, I didn't like the Viper, but the performance comparison was shocking!
THANK-YOU TODD AND EVO for making my trip so memorable. You guys(and girl) are a class act.
I'll attempt to post a pic or two and my analysis of Viper vs Todd

The pleasure was ours. After building your Stage 4 996TT a few years back, it was finally nice to put a face with the name. I am glad we were able to drive my 996TT. These days it just sits in the shop with the cover on it and it was nice to let her loose once in a long while. I am interested in the other data that you may have logged from our "legal" stroll around Tempe. Glad you enjoyed a snapshot of the life at EVO and all that goes on on a regular basis. Keep in touch.

Another graph
I have added the data from an earlier run in my modded GT2.
I graphed Gforce vs speed to show how much more punch Todd's car has. The experience is that it feels incredibly faster, especially in the higher gears. The graph bears this out as Todd's car pulls .15g to .2g more in each gear, but in the upper gears the percentage increase is more, and I believe that is what you feel. All I can say is WOW!
