Tracked gum into the TT... so i used WD-40!
stepped in gum, didnt know it until i got in my car. (of course) tracked it all over my floormat. did a quick google search, because ive never done it before. didnt like the peanut butter idea, didnt have an ice cube handy, and it was 107* outside, and i wasnt home, so i had to do something fairly quick. went next door the Kragen autoparts, no "goo-gone" or compressed air cans! damn, so my next option was WD-40. yep, WD-40. same basic principal i suppose as the compressed air can, added with something in the WD that helps against adhesives/greases...? (so it said). was worth a shot. and sure enough! tested it on a piece of the underside of the mat to check for stainging. nothing. So i sprayed a generous ammount on the mat, and rubbed it fairly well with a clean rag. stuff just fell apart to the ground. it was awesome. no staining the mat either. worked like a charm.
and now my floor mat stopped squeaking.

its not bad, since its a good idea to clean it up (maybe some detergent soap) i just used water and a rag to scrub the mat down after i WD-40'd and scrubbed. just in case it decided to eat through my carpet overnight, and to help get the smell out.

I use the air duster spray for cleaning out computer keyboards. Spray for a bit then freezing air turns the gum rock hard and just crumbles off. Plus no smell like from WD-40.
Works great on upolstery too, but would pick out a spot for testing just to be sure.
