SPI E900 GTR vs. Protomotive 996 TT

It was a pleasure meeting Fadi, not so fun watching him take off that fast. We were going to wait and run next month as I didn't have decent fuel to use. The fuel caused some misfiring when the boost exceeded 1.45 but I figured what the heck, limit the boost and let's just have some fun in Mexico. I mean, Scott's car trapped 147, 4.7 60-130. Fadi's trapped 143, 5.0 60-130 right?
Unfortunately, he's an excellent driver and I forgot to take my Geritol. We'll try it again in a month or so.

Yes, I did run a 5.0 60-130 but that was starting in 3rd gear and not the optimal 2nd. That was because I had the OEM tires on the car still and couldn't get the car to hook up so I had to start in 3rd. I am suspecting that from a 2nd gear roll, it is a 4.8 car, or right about there.
I have one question for you as it will tell a lot....What gear were you in when we lined up for all of our races??
Fadi , i understand but i dont see how lag would play an issue if your at the right rpms and right gear on a highway run... out of the dig yes... but on the highway i neevr have an issue with the 3076's i just make sure im at the right rpms and in the right gear and boost is instant.
regardless i will not take away from you what you , cuase a race is a race and its run what you brung.lol

I am not arguing that Brad can't do better. I told him that after the race and I stated this in my original post. I am positive that once Brad gets the hang of the car and optimizes shift points, it will be a very fast car and give me a great run, possibly beat me. But don't let these PDK vids with 400 whp beating P700s fool you, lol. The GTR is VERY fast and VERY hard to beat. I have beaten several low 9 sec cars that trap over 150 on the street in my car, and also ran away from modded liter bikes from a 50 roll.
I am ready for round II as soon as Brad is.

I think Scott's old car has 35rs.. not sure if they are .63 or .82... if so 2nd gear start is a must at 45 mph and redline it to build boost.. then if you do not have stiffer springs in the dvs get them... it helps between shifts... 1.45 bar on that car without boost leaks is probably 750rwhp vs 800+AWHP with a no brainer auto tranny that shifts like F 1 car... theres nothing to it... I said many times to those who have other platforms that the P car is a different animal.. no wonder very few can actually run low 10s.... and thats with globs of HP...
Gtr is set up right..... good job...

Agreed.

good kill Fadi!
stick cars will vary significantly between 2 drivers.. I have seen people row gears and go a full second quicker at the track , quicker then a "good" driver..
regardless a win is a win, you keep kicking *** and taking names bro!!

Thanks bro. I just love to race and have fun, win or lose, it doesn't matter. And I am the kind of person that will tell it like it is, which is why i stated over and over again that I am full aware that Brad's car has a lot more in it. Brad and I will be in touch and a re-match with video will come soon.

The 996 got pulled like it was making alot less than 800+whp. As stated looks like the car has some fuel/boost issues, hopefully that gets figured out and can run like it should. That race should be much much closer than that....

It's been confirmed by the owner that he was in 2nd gear from a 45, which is the gear he needed to be in.

Your on E85 right? that helps with spool up too... so yeah thats a tough one to beat....

yeah, even with that its impossible to keep up with a Gt28 thats full boost at 3500.... those 35rs do not get full boost until 5400.... its really a tough one... then it drops to zero between shifts.. I know I have basically the same set up.... probably some 30rs at 1.7 bar would help....

Yes, I am running E85 and boost lag and/or boost drop in-between shifts are non existent..

Thanks Mark. It seems like you are one of the few that really understand the GTR well and are aware of it's stout performance given the system engineering behind that car. It just all works out really, really well.

That really sums it up...Fadi's car is a totally setup package that spools right now!... hooks everywhere & has no missed shifts & no boost lag
I have personally watched Fadi race low low 9 's (& even 8 second) cars trapping 150-155...all the races are the same...Fadi Jumps out a car & stays there while whoever he is racing try's to row through the gears & if they pull they lose momentum when they shift & fall back whatever they gained...it defies physics from a 4000 lb car!!!
Amazing car Fadi!!!

Let me start by saying that my 996 is slightly faster then my buddies stock ZR1 from any speed...& I'm not even on the same planet as this car!!

I am actually very surprised how well that Porsche put the power down. Being in 2nd gear from 40/45 and getting 830+ whp to hook up to the rear wheels is usually not an easy task, but with a little bit of suspension work and R888 tires, that Porsche did extremely well.
