Porsche Knowledge Books

I've been looking through the knowledge base section, but haven't found exactly what I'm looking for and am searching for help. Does anybody have any suggestions for the best book(s) to pick up to help me boost my knowledge of Porsche and turbos? I'd rather cut through the lines and learn everything I can from one reputable source, if possible.

The best book by far for general information about the 996 family is "Porsche 996 The Essential Companion" by Adrian Streather.
"Porsche turbo , the full history of the race and production cars" lots of nice pictures and explanation about the turbo evolution.
And finally the "Porsche 911 story" from Paul Frère" . Lots of highly technical information about the complete Porsche 911 family. Hope this help, J.P.

I have all three of those books and they are indeed excellent. The one other book (or set) I would recommend is: Porsche: Excellence Was Expected. This is a 3-volume set and has almost 1700 pages (set also weighs about 22 lbs). It's pricey but it's also quite possibly the ultimate book set on Porsches.

you weren't kidding about being pricey, but I don't mind spending a few pesos for good books. Thanks.

You're welcome. Keep in mind that this set covers ALL Porsches through history. If you're looking for more detailed info on just the 996TTs, then some of the other less expensive books might be your best option. But if you want to start at the beginning.....

I read Adrian Streather's "Porsche 996 The Essential Companion" cover to cover after I first bought a 996. Loved it, great reading. I need to get Porsche Turbo and read that one.
