I came across a link awhile ago detailing how the door panel of either a 996 or 986 could be separated to be reupholstered. I know that the plastic melted rivets can be melted off and screwed in using self-tapping screws to fasten the door insert to the door panel. My question is the carpeted door trim has these "tabs" that are melted to the door panel. They aren't rivets so they can't be screwed in. Does anyone know of any method to secure these back to the panel once they are either grinded or melted? or if anyone can post a link to the page detailing this? I've been searching for awhile and can't find the source.

 

you can use epoxy to hold it in place. carpet is better in that location to avoid scuffing though.

 

Did you ever take apart your door panel? I have mine apart now and will be trying the epoxy glue. I hope this works
