"finding very little"?
You may think you are shortcutting, by having a conversation here- but you are really missing an opportunity for a much deeper understanding by spending 3 evenings doing the reading yourself....

The gain verses loss when using an EBC is not in your favor until the N75 and the ECU is a limiting factor. And you will probably never reach that point. The EBC is basically taking a really smart ECU that is intuitive enough to pull timing and boost when it sees high EGTs, excessive knock, boost creep and high IATs and correct for and bypassing it with an EBC. I can understand a piggyback to a certain extent, but never an EBC on a 996TT. Their is not much your ECU cannot be tuned for. The major limiting factor with more HP/TQ on these cars once the hardware is all sorted is the ECU's resolution. In other words, the ECU's inputs/calculations per second that effect the ECUs reaction time when correcting for quick things like knock activity and such. The X50 and GT2 is supposed to have a little higher resolution than the regular K16 cars. But, not an earth shattering difference by any means.

I'll be reading about this car for many many years, just starting to get a quick knowledge base. I have been reading about this car for months, but found better, more informative info on this site over the last couple days. There seems to be a few guys on forums that really do seem to know their cars inside and out in every detail..like I do about my 300ZXTT, well almost everything, and I have completely removed and replaced every single part on it w/o any assistance, but from my car club, and the shop manual. I have learned a lot just today. I'm feeling pretty good about the start I've made thanks to the shop manual and info from this forum. I will not touch this car until I feel very confident about what is going on. So far, so good. Thanks!!

To run a EBC you need a proper tune for it...

Like everyone you need the right tune to run the ebc, most tuners run ecu controlled boost rather then any ebc. Give 911 tuning a call and he will sort you out , and save you alot of money in the long run.
as for fuel, you can leave your rails alone. i would add injectors and a second fuel pump. and your good to go to about 800 hp.
i have markskis 800 setup. i run 1 bar on pump 93 and make 600 awhp. and on ms109 i run 1.6 to 1.7 wich makes 750 to the wheels.
week link to these cars, are the rods, but as you may know its not the boost that bends rods its the torque.
hope i hit all your questions .

Just a basic K16 flash on these cars adds 75whp or so...adding Meth can get you another 40-70whp depending on injectors and tune. My car made almost 600whp with k24/18g's, 72lb injectors, 1 stock fuel pump and 100% meth, and this was with stock IC's, piping and airbox with stock paper filter...changing injectors is not a big deal and definitely worth the aggravation... If you install a EBC, your ECU will lose the ability to control boost...ie no safety, as you have to disconnect the N75 valve...If you run a boost controler in these cars, you HAVE to pay attention to your boost guage and continuously monitor outdoor temps and anything else that can change boost levels...

Having a lot of experience with ebcs here is some of my knowledge. Altough you take out the n75 to run the ebc... most after market tunes on OEM N75 take the TB shut down safety out of the way to run more boost. Thus the car will run whatever the wgs will give you. Nothing there to stop it... With that said, an ebc is not totally running in blow up mode. It has safety features just like meth kits for example. If the ebc Is set correctly you cant really go past a certain boost setting once you set up. This is also connected to a warning setting that will pull back boost x amount of boost per ur setting If the ceiling is hit. If the ebc fails it goes to limp mode and runs wg pressure for safetly. As far as having to dabble with it per temperature changes... well the same thing happens when running a boosted car on the n75 except you can't control it. Had a client recently that came with a car running 1.4 bar on 3071s. The temps dropped and the car boosted to 1.6. He can't control it.
6speed member as well. With the ebc you can easily lower the boost and vice versa.
Although not for everyone, in my opinion , it is a great tool If you are willing to learn it.
Just my opinion.

I can't wait to start modding my 996TT, but I'm not familiar with this engine/electronics, ect. I hear the bottom end is strong enough for about 700HP, but what is the limit for the stock injectors and stock fuel rails? I'm also wondering why I have not heard about electronic boost controllers for the Porsche. An EBC would allow us to boost so much faster, and we could raise our boost pressure for like 500 bucks with a Blitz EBC, but I'm guessing the Porsche's electronics wont allow it?? Has anyone tried methanol injection? It seems the less expensive mods that make big power are not mentioned much, but I am new to the 996TT. Any input would be greatly appreciated, because I'm dying to put a boost controller on my car ASAP if it will work. How much boost can be added to a stock 996TT If I have race fuel, w/o going too far? Thanks in advance.
