Question No Hyadraulic Fluid... Can I replace myself, or do I need to take the car in

My hydraulic fluid reservior is bone dry... can I just replace the fluid myself, or do I need to take it in to a dealership? Any info. is greatly appreciated.

Better find out where the fluid is going first. No sense in adding any if it's just going to leak out again. Temporarily, you an add some and then take it in for diagnosis.

ebaker is infamous around these parts
If it's not leaking any fluid on to the ground add some yourself (Pentosin CHF 11 S only). I bought a can of fluid at the local Discount Auto Parts. Mine only took a couple of ounces to top off. If the fluid level drops again take it in. It's probably normal to loose an ounce or 2 of fluid in 3 years. I heard where someone's turbo burned due to power steering fluid leaking onto the exhaust, but you would see signs of a leak that bad.

I would take it to the dealership and have them look at it!!

My 2002 Turbo had reoccuring hydraulic system leaks that ultimately ended in my car bursting into flames. I was makng a u-turn, the fluid started gushing out and ignited on the turbos. Rest is history.....
