Alpha TiAL A3076 Turbos

I'm starting a new thread because I wanted to get people's impression of the A3076 turbos. What are the advantages, disadvantages, and limitations. I know they are bolt-on which is great. One tuner says that they are in a "league of their own." Is that true?

Some specific questions:

What is the A/R ratio? Do they come in different A/Rs?
What is the upper limitation with these turbos? They seem to spool great but fall off pretty rapidly up top.
How do they compare with the same GT3076?

TIA.

I'm still trying to figure out what the heck is an TiAL A3076 turbo? It seems like a hybrid of a several components, Garret, FP, etc... What's the difference between TiAL Alpha and TiAL Garret? I just started looking into this but TiAL's website is not all that clear to me. I can't even find specs on the A/R ratio of the A3076. I searched this forum and it's also confusing. Some say it's the same as Garretts other say it's somewhere in between. Do you order them custom? So confusing.

Sounds like your questions can be answered with a 5 minute call to Tial.

I guess I'll have to since I can't seem to find it anywhere. Just thought I'd post the question since maybe others might want to know as well. Maybe everyone already knows except the noob.

Alpha = Choice of .63 or .82 A/R, Tial exhaust housing that mates up to stock headers and location, optimized Forced performance compressor housing, and HTA (billet) compressor. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I upgraded from k24/18 to the Alpha turbos and they are better in every way. More top end, better spool, and they are much more efficient.

No, debating between 996tt or GTR. Don;t really care for the look of a GTR, too much resemblance of a Mustang.

True but your comparing two different turbos that should not be compared..
we made 870whp on alpha 3076s but they are huge compared to K24 18gs...

Alpha is direct replacement... and your not going to find out the A/R.... NO you cant order them in .63 or .82 as some suggested... (unless something has changed in the last month or so)...
they are neither...

we have seen better results with full blown 3076s with external tial 44 mm Wgs and custom headers on a .82 A/R.. but you need way more money to make it work.. so this tial is a good product...

These are huge turbos... especially someone coming from a k16.. thus lag as some call it is considerable..
so dont expect k16 low end performance...

I actually think that the best one for a stock motor when it comes to best of both worlds is the Alpha 3071...

Your supposed to be confused its not your product... some is proprietary so China doesn't copy it lol

Thanks for that info about the alphas. It makes sense because there's not much info out there spec wise. Your comment about copying is so true but sad. Why do you say 3071 is better than 3076 for stock motor? Prodigy's dyno looks pretty good (I know this sounds like a retreat but it's all relative), wouldn't 3071 choke up even more up top? Do you have a dyno you can post with 3076? Does it flatten out in HP too?

I just know from driving/ setting up the cars.. I know that any 3076r turbo including alpha is at full boost at 4250... the 71s are in the high 3s... best of both worlds... Thats why on our custom 30rs we have 3 different wheel options...

alphas on our 997...

So what is an advantage of having a GT3071/76 with custom race headers w/ external Waste gates rather than just tial gt3071/76?

you mean alpha Tials...
the external tial 44 mm wgs are superior... the exhaust side is bigger since we can use whatever we want... etc.
all of the big boys use external wg set ups... but dont get me wrong the above is on our 997 with alpha direct replacement 3076s... so they work well...

Here is my HTA 35R with the tial SS exhaust housing... non alpha of course...
