Either way I'm a customer of Todd's (Protomotive) and I consider Tony (EPL) a friend. I believe Todd would never act maliciously towards Tony and vice versa. Tony has always been a stand up guy in my time knowing him (which is coming up on 10 years) and has in more recent dealings presented a very clear line between our friendship and business. He has the utmost respect for Todd and I don't believe that he would compromise his own integrity for anything or to satisfy one customer.
Every car reacts differently to a specific set of mods and all tuners tune differently. If you were to look at how Switzer, Softronic, Proto, and EPL were to tune the same car I guarantee none of the 4 would be identical. No one out there has the exact same mods as John, just like no one has the exact same mods as I do. Some people will sacrifice certain driving characteristics for others, and some won't be able to live with out them. With all my rambling I agree with some that the Proto fan boi sentiment is a little heavy in this thread and certainly a little unfair to Tony. I know I may not know the whole story but my god some of the he says, she says is a little ridiculous. Don't stir the pot if you aren't going to serve the soup.

Your agreement with EPL is effective when you load their software on your car ........ the flash loading software has terms of use agreement I would imagine.

I did read post 20 as well as the entire thread a number of times. Between your abuse of commas and periods not to mention the various forms of ball gargling going on in this thread I just thought it would be nice to make a post that contained some logic. Most, not all, of your replies wreak of sarcasm and a condescending tone. Please post your dyno sheets when you redyno the car on a mustang. I look forward to getting our first apples to apples comparison of two tunes on the same car for quite some time.

I have known John for many years and consider him a friend. If you know John then you realize that he is the most dedicated and intense person when it comes to making horsepower. When he starts a new quest he will read and devour everything he can get his hands on to learn about the project. Then he will start testing these things to see what works and what doesn’t. I have seen him spend hours testing on a dyno to gain two or three horsepower on his Harley Davidson. The end result for that testing was that he has been the undisputed dyno king in the country for as long as I car remember never losing a competition he entered around the country. He has now brought this intensity to his Porsche. It does not surprise me that he has gone back and forth across the country in search of more power and better drivability. His motto has always been power that can be driven on the street. He has always been willing to share his builds and components with anyone that is interested. I’m sure the reason for his starting this thread was just to inform those interested as to what is working for him and not to bash anyone. I’m only surprised that he hasn’t taken the car to more people than he has as he is never satisfied and always thinks there is more power to be had by trying something new and different. To see where this thread has gone is amazing to me and how it has become rather personal in it’s accusatory nature and how it has digressed into legal issues that will never be acted upon. I very seldom post on these forums but thought that people might want an insiders insight into what kind of guy John really is. I’m sure he will be posting more threads when he finds out about and tests the next best thing from whatever vendor he learns about.
