Another ebay 996 with a full 997 conversion..
What's the deal with these cars? I mean how is this even possible? This guy claims he had a 996 TT and swapped everything over from a 997 to the 996 chassis.

What do you guys think?

I like the 997 headlight conversion but dislike the busy and overzealous front fascia (too many scoops and non-functional slots). I'm not a fan of that color or the black non-deepdish wheels either. How much do you guesstimate it would take to just do a 997.1 headlight/front fascia conversion on a typical 996TT?

That's what I'm thinking! I mean, look at the pics, EVERYTHING is from a 997! The interior, seats, etc. How the hell is that even possible to swap to a 996?!

I seriously doubt they did. I would think they repaired / painted the wrecked car and in the process took the VIN off the 996 and installed it on the 997
I really dont think you can swap every part like that. The frame is slightly different in too many ways, the door panels are different, the under trunk plastics and panels are different, the sheet metal behind the dash surely has to be different, the tunnel from the console is different, the steering wheel mount is different, the engine bay hood is a different size, ect ect ect ect ect

yes i think unless they switched the actual doors the door cards would not fit! also the center console just looks too clean to fit.. but notice the 996 door sills! who knows at the end of the day this car is somewhat of a frankenstein!
but i think it actually looks good..
yes i would love an updated interior.. but it takes away the classic look of the 996
look in the interior rear shot! its 100% a 996!

+1... I think they are hiding what happened to the 997.
