ABS/PSM - 4200 code
#16
That would have been the diagnosis if messing with the wiring wouldn't have helped my situation. The part (ABS/PSM control unit) is like $5-6K. I'm really surprised that the error cant get cleared by Durametric. Does it go away and then return as soon as you start the car, or it just never goes away at all when you try to clear it?
never mind, just re-read your post. Does the Durametric software give an error? even if the PSM control unit is faulty, that shouldn't prevent you from clearing the code.

According to the diagnostic manual the fault is the lead front right! I remember reading a couple of post mentioning this lead at fault....

JP,
I am helping steve with this. This is what we have found, Front right harness has continuity from pin at abs to wheel carrier for both wires and no continuity to ground. So as far as that I feel the harness is intact and working. The fault will not clear. It is standing This is telling me it is either some other input or the unit itself.

Good to know, I think Steve is in good hand!!!! Happy to see your around again to help a TT owner in trouble Which you good luck with that one. Keep us infer of your findings.
note. : I remember testing a wire for continuity on the airbag system with my ohmmeter and I had continuity but the computer did not like this wire because I had too much resistance. Later I've found the wire had only 4 strands intact....

Yes I do! Before going into heavy expenses I would like to try a new harness and if it is possible try the one on the left to the right and see if the problem is switching sides.
