ABS/PSM - 4200 code
I've been getting the ABS/PSM errors now pretty regularly and the durametric pulls a 4200 code - right front speed sensor. I replaced it with a new one, but lo and behold, I'm still getting the error.
Any suggestions for where else the issue could be?

I have the same issue, only I have actually had my ABS fail (on track, multiple times). Replaced the harnesses and the sensors. Still problem. I have been instructred by someone with similar issues to check the ground wire (two brown wires used to ground the ABS/PSM system in the boot lid). That is my next shot. Then I'm going to rip the whole thing out.

Sunnyside - The previous owner had steering angle sensor replaced and recalibrated and the durametric only shows 4200 as the code. There are no other codes from the ABS/PSM unit. If it was the steering angle sensor, I should expect to see a code pointing me in that direction right?

This ABS thing seems to be the 996tt's achilles heel. I had 2 brand new tyres fitted on the front and only just acceptable rears and I think that was also another reason for the problem. Different wheel speeds? I had the rears changed and I stopped having the fault appear quite as often. Still did it though.

No I haven't, but I haven't gotten a code for that. The codes I have gotten (And I forget the code numbers because the shop that the car is at wrote them down) were:
Left front wheel sensor
ABS Pump
CAN signal implausible
So I guess my symptoms may be somewhat different, but mine has actually locked up a few times, once going 150+ into 10a at Road Atlanta. My light does not stay on either, if I cut the car off and back on, it goes away. CODES AND ALL (even tested by PIWIS). The only way we got the code was for me to go on track and try to make it happen again (CRAZY), which it did, without even engaging ABS and brought it straight in with motor still running and got those codes.

Resolved
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I've been busy with work and haven't had time to log on, but I figure it would be good to post the resolution.
I wound up taking this to the shop, they did a bunch of diagnosis and reseated the wires/harnesses at all the connection points and lo and behold, the problem is gone. Hasn't come back in 2 months.
Looks like it was a loose connection somewhere.

guys
im having this issue with my car tonight.
my wheel speed sensor is still showing as faulty.
there are no grounds in the harness.
we have continuity from the speed sensor to the control unit... and those lines are not grounded either. We checked the brown wires.. one of them we have continuity, the other brown wire seems to have a diode, and we cant get continuity through it (checked both directions).
what do you guys think is going on ?

I got same problem Took it to dealer checked my tires sensors cleaned them still same fault show up
Then they changed brake sensor its inder the steering wheels and if fixed
Usually i was getting this error as soon i use brakes
