'04tt 265/35-18 fitment
OK, Here is where I am at. I am trying to get the fronts to last a little longer and remove some more understeer by going to wider fronts compared to my current 235/35-18 PS2's on I-forged rims to Fikse 265/35-18 MPSC's. Here are a few shots at full droop.
As you can see, we are rubbing up against my H&R springs around my Moton Clubsports. Here is what PS2's look like.
You can see I have nearly an inch on the PS2's but am rubbing on the MPSC's. On the other hand, the PS2's are closer to the wheel liner. First the MPSC's are close.
As you can see, I am slightly rubbing the wheel liner with the PS2's.
So, I tested the same thing while loading the suspension as much as I could. You still see the rub with the MPSC's while the PS2's are fine.
If I try too look at the offset, it appears that the PS2's are offset a little more than the MPSC's.
The PS2's look like they stick out a little more.
So, it looks like I should be able to use a spacer and try to clear the spring without going too far into the wheel liner. Any suggestions on how thick I should try? Have I missed anything big?
I have the offsets at the office.

Tim,
I notice your front main springs/keeper springs orientaion is different than mine......Look here....

Their diameters are the same so I don't think it should matter, but I thought I would mention it.
Regarding spacers, 5-7mm is about the smallest you will find. I would defer to John's judgment as he has been here already.

You can try using the factory 5mm spacers if there's someone out there that has them and lets you borrow a set, to try them out at least. Either that or there might be a possibility that you need brand new front wheels custom made to your offset.

what size are the wheels? they are custom wheels, iforged should have made them with the right offset...it shouldn't rub like that and you shouldn't have to buy spacers period. that's the reason for custom made wheels...or am i missing something?

Intereting Ken, I don't think it should matter if the helpers on the top or the bottom. Anyone?
Tri - yes, the wheel clears but the tire rubs. I will try to get some 5mm spacers and that should do the trick. I will probably just try some big washers first and then get the plates once I determine the correct size I need.

Chad, yes, I have done that. The clearance pictures are at lock to lock , at full droop, normal loading, and as heavily loaded as I can get on the lift. without pulling the springs and dropping nitrogen pressure, this is about as good as I can do.

The rim is a 8.5 meant to hold a 235 tire. When you switch the tire to a 265 width, the rim sizes needs to go up, or you have to have a wheel that is made with the correct offset to hold the 265 and fit your car. Stock turbos can fit a maximum 245 tire up in the front. You can go wider with fender modifcations.
