Depends on the speed you plan to attain and type of car you are driving. I ran a 996TT around 200 mph for several years. Like BHT, was removing downforce from the car (like disabling the spoiler) to try to increase speed. The car was rock solid.

Whatever car or speed you run, you should work up slowly with some shakedown passes to get a feel for the car at speed and make sure it does not start to get light on you...

I hope to get over 200 in my 996tt. My concern comes from the rear weight bias. I was thinking people might use splitters or flics to try and balance it out at high speeds. I imagine a well sorted suspension surely helps as well.

BHT and I had essentially same suspension setup on our cars for the mile. PSS9 or PSS10 with the car lowered about an inch. Then a GT2 type alignment. I ran 200 and he ran 212 and both cars were supremely well behaved.

Things start to change about 220 or so, I understand. The 996tt platform can get squirrelly above that speed. So our experience my not be applicable above that level if you car has the power to get there.

Again the most important thing at the mile is to work up slowly so you dont get any big nasty surprises.

Guys,
Member Baser from Turkey sent me some data on his 997.1 TT with a Proto Tune and a plenum. It is a 7.47s run which is very quick for his current mods. He tells me he is getting ready to bolt on 30s so consider this a baseline...
Congrats Mehmet!!

Guys,
Member DanWeber has submitted a very quick 9.19s run from his Audi RS6 V10 TT station wagon. The car only has a tune and no weight reduction.

Congrats Dan! That is one quick station wagon!!

Thanks Mike. You can see wheelspin on this run all the way to 80mph thats not in the 5.12 run in the beginning. I lost .1s before I even got to 70.

I actually ran a 5.12 last night too but it was unsanctioned due to it being a tad over 3 % decline (3.08%) LOL. its ok i think its repeatable. this was my frist attempt on E85
