Damn, those '13 Gt500s are seriously quick cars. Not much out there that can touch it for the price you can get them for. Hell around $60k or so and getting 662 hp w/ a 200mph top speed is just insane to me.. Go back even 10-15 years and you'd have to pay 4+ times that amount to get that out of a showroom vehicle.

What are the most popular brands for the GPS timing units used for these 60-130 runs?
Up to now I've only measured my past car's performance at the 1/4 drag strip, but like the idea of the 60-130 runs. I'm hoping to break the 11.0 barrier in my stock 997.2 TT PDK in the 1/4, think that is possible?

After the PBox, I probably wouldn't consider anything in between until the PBox-Pro with 32 CAN channels: ~$2000. This model will connect to the CAN bus in your car and can do some serious data logging while you drive, in addition to the normal PBox (vBox) functions. By being connected to the CAN bus in your car, you can monitor all of the vitals of the car while you drive. All of the data is put in the vBox file, and with the vBoxTools software, you can print graphs and display the results. You can also export the data to TrackVision, and with a little time and effort in conjunction with a GoPro-HD, create videos like that that show how your car performed. All of the gauges shown in the video below are captured by reading the data on the car's CAN bus. So this is the real data as the car was running. The video below is captured using two GoPro-HD's, and a vBox with CAN bus connection. The gauges were created and rendered with TrackVision.
Next up in price is the Video VBox ~ ~$3000-4000. This unit comes with cameras and will render the gauges on the video as you're driving. For another $500-$800, you can get the CAN bus option and connect to the car's computer. The downside: It's not HD video; only low-def video. Race Logic is working on a Video VBox-HD that will be introduced in the next year or so. I'm guessing it will still be in the $3k-$4k range. I own the Video VBox Pro, two cameras. Here's a sample video to show what it can do.
There's also other units made by other companies -- like the AIM-Solo. AIM-Solo is great for track use, and has a great price, but it sucks for doing anything like 60-130's. Getting a 60-130 out of it is a lot of work because you have to export the files to Excel, then basically hand-craft your own vBox-compatible files out of them. Don't try to use your cell phone or any cheap-o device with a low sampling rate. The best GPS in your cell phone is only 5Hz sampling rate, and at least 10Hz is required for these types of tests.
Anyways, good luck with your options.

I think there is a misunderstanding, the tip tranny is already built by us.
Cheers,
Emre

Guys,
Member Darkknight turned the wick up on his 997TT TIP to 1.6 bar and ran a very quick 3.97s 60-130! Additionally he also had a 100-200km/h in 3.39sec and
100-150mph 3.81sec.

God damn Emre/EsMotor know how to build some absolute monsters.. Heard him mention in his 1400+ hp 4.2L build thread talking about going after a sub 3 sec 60-130 time in the near future. He'd be the first one, correct?

Congrats that's moving!! Look forward to more data on this car I'm sure it will only get faster
