Decided to take our digi-camo Turbo-S up to the 1/4 mile at PBIR Friday for test and tune night to make a couple runs.
Mods on the car are as follows: Tubi Race exhaust, Werks1 airbox, Champion Motorsport intercoolers, Werks1 Y-Pipe, IPD plenum, and of course...our amazing GIAC software. Car is still on stock turbos and stock manifolds.
All runs were done on 93 octane pump gas. Temp was probably in the 70's that night. Video on the way...
Is this the fastest 997.2 Turbo so far?

That's a lot of mods for just 1/2 a sec in the 1/4 (I ran a 11.0 in mine stock), do you think a lower time is possible? Did you try lowering the tire psi? What's your estimated hp output over stock?

Dude!!! The difference between a gold medal and a silver medal can be 1/100 second.
When you're running 10s in the 1/4, a half second is a worlds difference.

If GTR's can do it....so can we!

although judging by the trap speed this car doesnt have much more top end then stock. i've seen stock .2 TTS trap 128mph.

Also keep in mind that the stock TTS is capable of 10.8 or so, and IMO the Champion run is still a marginal improvement over stock for all that $ spent. This car is clearly not as moddable as a GTR, which is dissapointing given that the two are so close in stock form.
10's right out of the box in stock form is still impressive though!

Well, to put it into perspective... Our car trapped 130 mph. At 130mph the car is traveling at about 190 feet per second. So in those 6 tenths of a second (the difference between stock and our car) the car traveled about 114 feet. The 997 Turbo is about 175 inches (14 feet) long...
So....to put things into perspective, in those 6 tenths of a second, a stock 997.2 TTS just got beat by 8 car lengths. Tenths of a second are HUGE in 1/4 racing, and the lower your ET's go, the more and more difficult it becomes to get that extra tenth.

That's the problem with 1/4 miles. It never seems impressive to go from an 11.0 to a 10.4. It's only 6 tenths of a second right? No big deal...

It's obviously just my opinion, but I would want to see more of an improvement than that for all of those mods. The trap speed is just a couple mph higher as well, so marginal IMO. Your 60 foot was good so I'd assume the car has put down about all that it can with those mods.
Have you dynoed your modded turbo yet? If not, what's the estimated HP and torque increase?

Like I said a stock TTS could likely see 10.8's so the difference is more like .3-.4 from your modded turbo.

We're putting it on the dyno today if there's enough time before going back to the track...so I'll be able to give you a good wheel HP number.

Submitted the vbox data for our B5 S4 testing out GIAC's new E85 Extreme file.
Mods are:
2000 Audi S4 (2.7TT)
PJ K04 turbos (OEM RS4)
E85 fuel
3" downpipes, upgraded intercoolers, RS4 intake
Stock internals
50/50 water-methanol injection
1-shift. DA was 876 and run was 1.5% downhill.

Porsche is not a 1/4 mile car. Porsche cars didn't create a legendary race status
Lined up next to GTRs, Corvettes and Mustangs at the drag strip.
On a personal note, I broke the 60-130 record on a K16 based car with stock
Internals. In 2 weeks Ill break the A28 record for 60-130 and I'll get the 1/4
Mile record in April. I'm mostly doing this for my friend Markski because he
Is a highly underrated tuner who builds very fast cars that are reliable.
He's an honest guy who doesn't make outrageous claims. he builds better
Cars than the guys who charge twice as much and keep your car for 6 months.
GTR more easily modded? Yes it is, if you want to drive a Nissan.
