Blackstone Lab results for oil.

Blackstone Lab results for oil.
Given that people judge a book by its cover. People on the forums (here and the other side) perceive I drive really hard. I have a few friends who think that as well. I on the other hand don't think i drive hard but fast and smooth. So after countless drives to my local back roads and 18 track days, 84,000 miles I decided to do an oil lab test as I saw some shiny glittering in the oil canister. I did let the oil go on longer this time around then I typically do. Reason for is, I wanted to see if the oil quality would drop. My car has had oil changes sub 3,000 miles since I have owned it at 20,000 miles. The oil analyst show my hard work in keeping this car well maintain and to the people who say I drive hard, I’ll say the engine doesn’t seem to think so, nor do any mechanical components of the car. Cheers to that. :biggulp:
As for drive train mods: UMW Flash  with UMW clutch kit.
Moral of the story: Fast is not always hard.
As she is now : )

Enrique,
Thanks for sharing!
What other parts have worn or broken while during your ownership driving "like you stole it", the way it should be driven (sorry, "fast and smooth")

Enrique,
So... your book must be a "hard" cover that led people to think you drive "hard".
After several drives with you, personally, I don't think you drive hard; fast at some times but not all the times. One thing that I do notice was you take corners very fast. That's why you can drive really fast on windy roads... which usually a sign of a good driver.
In my book, you are a very good driver.

I agree, fast is not always hard on the car. I've seen and ridden with some guys who aren't fast that totally destroy the drive train with jerky poor shifting and movements. I'm easy on everything on the car (except the suspension).
From what I've seen in your videos, you are a smooth driver (all the way around), which means you don't tax the car much. So for the drive train a day at the track is like a day of engine break, or on the dyno tuning.

transmission mount
2nd gear pop out
Power steering pump
Those are the only issues I have had that one can say it is due to 'tracking' When you are smooth and easy on the equipment. Less things tend to break. I see people here who have clutches go out at 10k miles. I had 64k miles and it still had 70% clutch left. My point is, if you know how to drive fast and smooth it has less wear then some peoples Daily driving....

Yup, to each their own. But I will stick to my sub 3k miles. and doing tons of preventive maint to keep her happy. I would say track guys really take care of their cars more so then any other owner. We want that safety margin knowing everything is tip top shape at all times.

Copper and lead are higher then average. IMS bearings? I pulled apart my motor at 70,000k and the ims bearings were passed the copper almost completely.
