Great news Sean. Are you going to get it back this week?
Update: Steve Ott at Drivers Source sent my tranny to BMC and G in Ohio (I believe it is Brian Copan's shop...Chad, CJV also recommended him).
I owe him a little over $7.5K and Steve Ott a little under 1K so the total cost is 8.5k...ouch.
However, 1-4 were done along with steel syncros, so this tranny should be very strong.

I understand the GT2 has a beefed up gearbox compared to the Turbos
Does anyone know what differences there are between the two gearboxes (in stock form)
Sean - What have you had done over and above the stock GT2 box?
What's the spec of the gears you've had installed?
Good to hear things are getting sorted

I have a copy of the invoice, but need to rotate it to read.
I have pretty much gotten everything, replacement shaft, 1-4th straight cut gears, steel syncros. Correct me if I am wrong, but the other option is the 997 set up; this is fully aftermarket/race car set up.
Copan has a very good rep, and from what I have been told his prices are as good as anyone else.

No Joe thats Seans tears messing up the Invoice (acually its Sean Bent over a desk) LOL
Sean sorry you left yourself open on that one I am happy your getting it back and having it beefed up and not just stock replacement.
Cheers !

Brian went on about the details quite a bit, but the bottom line is it is supposedly very strong now.

Well at least know that you got a very fair price, and you should be set for awhile now with the tranny. I was just in similar position and felt the pain, I justify by thinking with all the work done on my car its like a 2010 with a 2001 shell
