Innovator996 is infamous around these parts
Question What's my best bet for a 'buttery smooth' shifting transmission rebuild?

I have to have my transmission rebuilt to rectify a second gear pop out condition, and notchy 1st to 2nd shift.

My 2002 996 turbo has only 12,000 miles on it and I am the second owner. I bought it with this issue with 10,700.. My car had a dealer installed short shifter originally. I thought it was just the short shifter as far as the notchy shifting, but failed to detect any pop out. It wasn't the shifter Now I need to deal with it..

Anyway, I have no plans on racing this car, but my main concern it for it to shift as smoothly as possible. This car is my daily driver, and I want it to hold up. I have installed a new 997 shifter already, and don't want to have to revisit it again after I fix it. . Suggestions would be appreciated as to whom to bring it to .. I am on the East coast and I want to send it to the best rebuilder available. Shipping is not a concern..

Thanks

Can anyone recommend a trans person here in the Md/Dc/Va area?

I have a slight grind in 3rd gear at high rpm.

I was told by G-Box in CO to swap out the gear oil to Delvac Syn and that should solve the problem, as according to his recommendation the fluid should be changed at 30k miles.
