GT3 Seats, Sport Seats, Roll Bars and LEGROOM!!

Tim,
I have a question. Where is your outer lap belt connected and where is your stock shoulder belt connected? I read they should both go to the GT3 seat pick-up bolt on the side of the seat.

those sport seats are a bad situation on their own, to be polite they suck.
ken are those weights including seat rails? i am wondering if a Cobra Suzuka would be lighter but they're about 12# i believe so it's 4# savings...for 2

which comment ken?
sport seats are an old knife in the back from porsche. they buy cheap Lear seats with no side support and too narrow for anyone over 160 # that are heavy, just to save $$$ because lears are cheap enuf to put in gmc trucks.
you know how bad they are to drive in, holding your body up by bracing your foot against the floor and your arm against the door. absolutely inappropriate for a porsche.
in the mountains up here, it's better to avoid your car 'til your gt3 seats arrive

Lear? Is this a brand? I thought all Porsche factory seats were made by Recaro. Case in point, I remember my old 944 Turbo seats. I removed the seat hinge coverplate and sure enough there was a sticker that read "Recaro".

lear is the remainder of mr lear of lear jet's auto parts mfr, yes it is a brand that = mediocre quality+cheap cost to OEM+poor satisfaction to end user
altho' they work fine in my yukon xl, but i pound that truck somewhat less thru the corners than my gt2 and gt3

Ken...
could you comment on the comfort of the GT3 seats? Considering I drive my car daily, I'm still wondering if this is a good idea.
Also, where did you purchase the belts from?
Thanks in advance!

Chris,
I haven't actually driven the car yet!!! I just put the seats in between the last two nights. I can tell you that getting in and out is more difficult. They feel comfortable although a little narrow but I knew that going in. I am told if you need more width to go to the Pole Position seats. If what I heard is correct, they are about 3/4" wider in the seat section.
The GT3 seats have a small lumbar pad velcroed behind the lower seatback leather pad. This can be positioned up or down as desired. I would tend to think it could be enlarged as well and replaced with minimal effort.
One thing is very clear though. The legroom has been completely retored. Initially, when I had the sport seats in there with the rollbar, my legs were cramped. Since the GT3 seat is thinner and shaped differently, it restores the legroom.
Hope that helps.
