Dyno pics and feedback

I did not get much feedback on the 996 board on my dyno runs.

stats: 2000 996 stick custom Supercharger 5-7 psi

Dyno Mustang Dyno AFR sniffer test only for AFR

Question what is the stock AFR for idle since it hunts? just looking for ballpark and AFR in producing power.

First tune test.

Note drop in the 5300 rpm range and AFR is leaner and produces more TQ/HP at high RPM and "0" boost. Compared to test map 2 below

Second tune map.

No dip in the 5300 rpm range but lower TQ/HP and AFR is at 11.5 and psi at around 5 and Note: Throttle had to be gently applied if not it would pop and sputter etc to get through test.
My question what does it take to get a smoother graph especially at the high RPM'S. I also had a smoke test done and no leaks and belt is tight.

You need more fuel enrichment under accel. A supercharger is almost instant boost and it'll pop when it gets lean. Tune it rich and then pull the fuel out.

Had to shutdown this test due to popping minimum was 9.3 and assume that richening it will not bring the boost on earlier?

HI,Who did your mapping with your supercharger?? The reason I ask is because when I had my 2002 C2 with a supercharger my car had a GIAC tune with it...It ran great a and had a great powerband...And when I had a problem with the set-up Andrew knew the cure and the fix....Good Luck

Can you provide a timing curve?

Plug gap?

FVD is doing the tuning and the tuners are in germany so a modification takes a day to test. What problems did andrew help you with set-up or tuing? thanks for th eoffer though.

On a N/A car that you run boost on the tune is very important. The N/A ecu is not the same as the turbo ecu and you need to tune with out the use of the map sensor because the stock ecu and sensor reads map in negative bar to zero bar. the turbo ecu reads zero bar to 3 bar. I would run a colder plug and tighten the gap to .28 or so to start then it is all tune from there. Gaic/VF has many hours in R&D and nailed it with there kit, also TPC has some cars supercharged and turboed on the stock N/A ecu. I would call either of them and see if they would sell you a tune I do not think they will but worth a shot. For sure you need larger injectors then stock, do you have them? Years ago I seen N/A run 5-7psi of boost with nothing more then a larger injector and a 1-1 fpr with no problems. That was when you could not get into the ecu's though.

I could just not fugure out how to make a graph using excel but here is a small slice on original map.
1 is RPM
2 is Timing
3 is the time before data input

I agree there are some differences between the turbo and sc'ed cars and am running 48 lbs injectors that have been flow tested within 2% of each other. There is to much politics involved in getting one of there tunes however a comparison of data would be nice though. I was recommend that I go one step hotter on the plug.

You can run a piggy back ecu to handle fuel only and and run a map sensor to adjust for boost. Any way you slice it it is work and $$$.

I'm sure it could be done however the tune I have is paid for. I had looked at the option awhile back and I am not a electrical wiz so decided against the idea.

It will take some back and forth but they will get it. not tuning live off a emulator is really hard work in your case as the map input does not enrich fuel and help the tuner get to the end tune quickly. I would run sunoco 100 to help protect the motor while you are working on the tune. After its close run the pump gas..

running a hotter plug than stock on a boosted application? That would be a pretty bad idea i beleive.
