protomotive: its really all about the tune. more power with less boost
to me dyno #'s don't really mean anything, its the way the car moves. little history. i was being cheap due to when i bought my car it came with a off the shelf revo tune. the tune was good until one knows the difference. i tried building my car around the revo flash. i thought the car ran great but slowly i noticed little performance losses. i have x50 package, upgraded waste gates, 74mm plenum, pulley(bbi) exhaust 3" (bbi) dv, new sachs 2.5 clutch, everything but headers, y pipe, and a custom maf.
lucky for me i only drove the car 1500 miles or so before i decided to put a new flash and 60lb injectors in to make it run the way it should. .. this car is a beast now. i have a dual file; 91 octane and race file. have not had the pleasure of trying out the race file yet, but this will come very soon. set at 1.1-1.2 bar on pump gas. the car now loses traction in the high rpms in 2nd gear and pulls hard, very hard.. i have test drove a few 997 tt in the last few months debating if i should trade it in. this car is much quicker then a stock 997tt and dose not run out of power.... the car is quick and strong up top.. i really have a new love affair with my car again and it was much cheaper then trading it in for something to start all over again...

the car is scary fast now. i really could not imagine more for the way i drive in the canyons and mountains. its feels like k16's that are super strong... quick and responsive! i will now spend the rest of my money on suspension and personalizing the outside of the car. i installed a CF wing when i did the flash. i think i will follow this tastefully throughout the car.. i will not make it look like i am sponsored by CF. that to me is tacky... markski, don't know if you remember, i called you about four months ago and you told me about this set up. you are right. wicked fast!!!

Have had chance to take Durametric logs, I'd be interested to see how it compares with my EPL tune on K24's with 5 bar FPR, upgraded actuators & 200cel exhaust on UK 98 (US 95 fuel).
Particularly spool from a 2000rpm Wide Open Trottle run in 3rd/4th gear.

destructo: not sure about the off shelf question. i have wrote my tune was off shelf, but i will answer what i think you're asking. i take what everyone says and make up my mind. i have called every mod shop and board member here to get their input. i always do my research. i was surprised how many just want to sell you stuff that will make your car run worse. there are many products that are made for high HP that guys like me have on their cars. diminishing returns. i know the reason my car moves like the way it dose now is because i am within the limits of what i need for these mods. out of all i've have talked to BBI,911tuning(markski), and todd @ PM never told me to add such and such parts. i listened and asked questions. why? when someone that has been there and done that, says you're wasting your money you will not gain from it, in fact, you may lose, i listened. your other question, the same goes for the flash, i was told if i changed flashes i would reap the benefits of my mods.. this really is what tied it all together...

All the shops I have dealt with have been helpful with advice and never tried to push useless parts on me. Mike glad you are happy with the car. Get some suspension on the car and go have some fun!!!

On a K24 car the tunes will be the exact same. It's all the same with stock turbo cars (unless you have Upsolute). Anyone that says different has NO clue wtf they are talking about.

If you think a stock K24 car with just a tune will very from vendor to vendor (other than 5rwhp) than you do not have a clue about these cars. Yes a K24/18 car is in question there will be a difference from tuner to tuner. It's all about boost and timing. Did you ever go back to Kelly Mosses dyno to verify your numbers?
