Vinyl Wrapped

Thought I'd share some quick pics of my TT that just got done with a full body vinyl wrap.

Wow very nice! Looks really good! May need to tone down the front and rear lights now with some smoke tint or something, IMO.

Couple questions... what did it cost? And does the paint have to be perfect? I've been debating either a new paint job or a wrap...

Wow...that looks great! I'd love to see it in person sometime considering we may live reasonably close to one another.

What color was it originally? Did they match the jambs and everything too?

Very nice. How hard are the wraps to keep clean? Do you wax them?

Thanks guys. A lot of people have asked about price, and I can say it comes in between $2500 and $3500 depending on the car, color, and options.

The original color of the car is black, so door jams weren't an issue in this case.

The wrap is guaranteed for 7 years but it's recommended that it is removed before 5 as it could effect the paint if it's left too long.

You have to make sure you dry the car right away after washing as water spots can occur with hard water. Dried rain water spots come off with Griots speed shine, and no wax required.

You can see more pic's of the details at www.facebook.com/guardline

That's wayyyyy to much, over here for regular color (matte or shiny) the cost for a car like 996TT is 600 $ tops. Hope there is no problem to say this on the forum... or I will delete the post. Carbon is going to be like 2.5-3x. I did my convertible 335i matte grey but hood and mirrors in carbon and also interior trims for 700 $.

Car is already 2 years wrapped and everything ok even is hardtop and has a lot of small engines to convert it, you will see minor problems if paying really good attention, but also those may be fixed quickly and cheap.
As duration car was done within 1 day !!

Cleaning should be done by the install company with some special lubricants

MINUS - not all of the colored surfaces can be wrapped, interior of the hood, interior of engine compartment, are inside the doors (some cases is hard) aso, maybe there is also the price diff.

I had to change also registration certificate as I changed color too.

For 50$/year I even included the wrapping into my insurance, check with your insurance company if interested.

For 2500-3500$ i would go for a repaint, and I forgot they are using vynil from 3M or Oracal, both good. No waxing needed

Vinyl wrap is more expensive here no question. How much do 996 TT's go for there?

Can't realistically compare costs across countries -- especially for labor-intensive jobs, which I would guess is the case for a wrap. Looks great!

At a minimum wage of $100 a month, it should be cheaper.
