996TT vs 997.1C2S resale value?
I am still debating between two cars. Found clean ones with low mileage and like them both. I switch cars every 2-3 years so resale value is important. Which one will hold value better? Looking at '03 TT with 30k miles no warranty and '06 C2S with 30k miles CPO. Both are priced similarly.

No idea what 7.1 values are, but depreciation on 6 turbo is pretty much flat now. Market value for the 6 turbo is also level if not slightly positive (at least since I bought mine two years ago.)
The foregoing generalities are subject to actual facts; mileage, condition of car, service history, etc. All of which dictate market value.

I was in your shoes just a few weeks ago. I bought the Turbo.
The test drive was all I needed. The C2S felt slow and the Turbo (X50) felt fast as hell.
In my mind, it was clear I wanted the fastest car. And with a 1000$ reflash, I'll be over 500hp. The C2S has a nicer interior, but to me, performance was all that mattered.
A 996tt is pretty much at its lowest price point now. These were 150k$ not so long ago. I don't think they can lose much more money. If you worry about warranty, try buying an EasyCare extended warranty. Got a 30months 50,000km warranty for 3k$.
Best of luck.

I love my 996TT, but it depends on what you want. Meaning performance, classic 911 look, maintenance. If you're leaning towards classic 911 look and maintenance then go for the 997. But if you want to blow your hair back with unlimited performance upgrades then the 996TT is the only choice. Good luck, either way is a PORSCHE!

I think the 997.1 stands to lose a lot more when the 991 comes out. The 996 is already old and has an undesireable look, so that's priced in.
People are going to keep buying the 996TT for the pure modding potential and kick in the pants the turbo adds.
I had this same debate myself and the power on the Turbo sold me.

i say if you want to track for sure go for power over looks but if you want to be a little flashy in a new porsche its nice to have a 997 i just feel like every car depreciates and you will die who knows when if the only thing holding you back form the 997 is depreciation dont let it its a great car and real sexy

Good luck with your decision. I faced the same choice and after driving both, the 6Turbo felt way faster and drove nicely despite the outdated interior.
If I may make one point that didn't occur to me two years ago when I purchased my 6Turbo: The new model 991S will make the 7C2S totally irrelevant.
