For weekend tody (not daily driver) try to get into a 930 or 964 Turbo or a 993 Turbo.

If your primary intent is weekend on the roads, Turbo is the way to go. Fast out of the box but has huge potential if you want to modify. GT3 power is loaded at the top end, a great track car if that is your intent. Otherwise not much opportunity for engine power mods.

I don't think that car will lose value at this point -- if it passes a PPI, the price is right. Also, red cars are faster.

How would the CPO (i.e. warranty) possibly work with a Turbo kit?
Anyway, sounds like a legit option.

My vote goes to the 996tt but of course I'm biased. I put a lot of research in back when I bought and couldn't find a better car for the money. It is the biggest bang for the buck power wise and reliable all day long and easily modifiable to huge power. The 996 GT3 would be a great buy as well and has the same GT1 engine as the 996tt. Plus the GT3 is a collectable and will likely only increase in value with time now. All depends on your taste. Lots of older Porsches in your budget as well

GT3 hands down, not only do you beat it in the track but you get to feel the road, also GT3 will def. hold its value and go up whereas the 996T will do opposite

Ask Charlie Sheen. I think he spent close to the amount with some girls from the Beverly Hills madam.
