Quick paint question -- Black Side/underbody trim

Hi Guys,

Anyone have these painted to match body color?
Difficult to remove/prep/paint? On body-off body, etc. I was thinking about doing this to freshen her up for 2012. Maybe a satin wrap later.

Estimate/experiences with $$$ from good shops? Big project?

Many thanks!
Henry

I removed my front lip, rockers, and rear bumper (to paint the lower grilles)

Took it to a local shop for painting

It's held up fine, no problems at all

My car's black, so probably only needed the front lip doing

It's quick and easy and a worthwhile job imo

Nice!
Any recall on $ to prep/paint? I realize you're in UK so probably a bit different -- but I've honestly never had any paintwork done. In my mind everything costs $10k , hah.

I supplied the parts that needed painting and refitted them myself

Front lip
Both Rockers
Rear bumper (whole thing, not just the grilles)

Cost me around £300 for cash

Henry it's not too bad at all... give me a shout next week I was thinking about possibly getting a couple small cosmetic things done at Europros and maybe we can go in together... i.e. Maybe get my lip body matched too. They do excellent work and derrick and jack are good guys, fellow car enthusiasts, and friends & they both came from Wagonworks in alexandria when that shop switched mgmt.

i removed the sides and front lip and did them myself using bulldog primer and rattle can spray i got from an autobody supply shop, they held up well (i since bought new ones so they arent on the car anyome)

i also did the rear grills by masking them off with tape, they still look good, you really cant tell they didnt come that way from the factory

if you are going to take them to a bodyshop you may as well also have them paint the bumperettes and whatever else you can think off, maybe center console
