You are correct. And yes, once I decided it was the car I did not hesitate...

M3 will be a much more comftorable daily driver, but if you've driven the 996tt you'll constantly be wanting more power out of the E92. The brakes, suspension, balance and interior is all great in the E92, it's very sporty, but every time I drive our shop car I always get out thinking "great car, great torque, just wish it had 100 more hp". Now a E92 with a ESS blower.... might be one of the perfect dailys.

statepkt is infamous around these parts
As someone who had an M3 and has a 911TT.....

M3 is more practical and comfortable. You have useable back seats and a useable trunk.

911TT is fun, but not as practical or comfortable. Back seats are a joke and is really only useful as storage space. Trunk can hold light shopping or 1 piece of luggage. In fact I have a Cayenne TT to supplement where the 911TT falls short.

I have both a 2011 M3 as a DD and a 2004 996TT x50 as my play/track car. The M3 is fun, but much more comfortable. It fits my kid's hockey equipment in the trunk!
