Rear Wiper Deleted - Question

Just removed my rear wiper

I've trial fitted the plug before sealing it

The plug is 25mm, but the hole in the body panel is nearer 26mm, meaning the plug is able to move around if you put your finger on it

I know I can silicone it in place and all will be fine, but I would have preferred a proper seal to begin with

Has anybody else had a similar experience?

My plug moves around a little bit if I try to move it. I've not bothered tryign to secure it more and it's been fine for over a year now.

Very easy removal, no problem at all to remove the panel that covers the wiper motor. What I did ultimately have a problem with was fitting the rearward facing interior panel back into place (including the thick padding that goes behind it).

You really need to silicone it to get a good water tight seal and prevent any moisture seeping under the plug. Just apply silicone sealant to the plug, press it in the hole, and wipe off the excess silicone that oozes out. Allow it to dry and you are set...

Interesting thread, however I have a completely different gripe with the rear wiper, I wish Porsche had fitted an intermittent mode and a washer jet as I am constantly pushing the button to get 3 wipes then stop. As you will have gathered , its bloody always raining here and a clear rear screen is essential.

Rain-X should do the trick.....then you won't need the wiper...

I agree with jcb. Bumperplugs is the way to go. The quality of the parts I have received from them has been top notch.
