Got my new Clutch and LWFW Installed...

I think it is GT3RS...in any case I have been using Kevin's package for years now. Don't really understand all of the complaints about sound...with exhaust and music playing I seldom notice it...and I am in a cab...LOL

The OEM LWFW is the 964RS (aka 996 GT3RS, 997.1 GT3RS, 997.2 GT2RS, and other Porsche race cars without the multi-disk clutch setup). The clutch disk is th 964RS (aka 996 GT3RS, 997 GT3RS, 997 GT2RS and other race cars without the multidisk clutch.) This disk will not workon non-RS flywheels because it has a larger sprung hub center which is known to counter the noise and chatter. This hub interferes with the flywheel hub if not the RS part.

Congrats! I've got the same set up from Kevin and will 2nd what you are saying about it being easy to drive. When I first drove my car off the lot after having it installed I had to stop and rev the engine a couple times to confirm anything had been done. It felt completely stock and (at the time) was dead quiet.
I spend more time than I’d like in stop & go traffic and would have ripped this out immediately if it were heavy, inconsistent or overly noisy. I can hear it when I turn off the radio and listen for it, but it’s definitely not intrusive and well worth it due to the performance enhancements. What I love best is how much more forgiving it is when rev matching for downshifts.
I’ve also wondered what causes the noise and have heard many theories. Bbywu, I’ve heard something similar to what you are saying but I’m not sure that explains why, while at idle, when I depress the clutch, the sound goes away…do you know the answer?

...and a gbox 2nd gear detent mod
And wow what a WIN it is.
A little background. My clutch started slipping after I got a boost leak and fuel filter leak repeaired. It probably explained why I thought my car was a bit slower, but simply attributed this to the fact its been 608HP for over 4 years.
I almost pulled the trigger on a Clutchmaster stg 3 setup, but was leery re: having to replace my flywheel. I've been through all the pro/con LWFW threads and was really on the fence - until i talked with Kevin.
Its been installed for over a week and I'm shocked at how super light and stock feeling it is, despite being able to handle my HP and then some. I'm breaking it in and babying the clutch/car - but i can already tell how supersmooth the clutch takeup is and the gbox mod removes any slow left over in the gearbox action. (i have both types of SSK installed)
But the REAL surprise here is the Noise...or LACK of it. With the AC on and clutch out there is a faint, grainy mechanical noise which emanates from the rear. It does not sound malignant, or like the car is broken. You REALLY have to listen close to hear it. BUt what IS there, sounds pretty damn cool actually. With the AC off, its gone.
You hear some rattles at high load, low rpms - but most manual cars I've driven have had some quality of this - so maybe I'm lucky, or I got a great kit.
Just wanted to pass on the great experience and emphatically suggest this option for anyone looking to replace/upgrade their clutch in a <700HP setup.
Oh - and the price could not be beat!
$2k and change. - $1k for the install.
Happy New YEAR!!

Guys I've had this kit for 3 years on my 997tt. It's great clutch plate hasn't even worn and the reason I know is I've just rebuilt my engine!
Call Rhonda she will hook you up and no need to pay 2k for it when it's just over $1700
