Are these tial a28
Hi, after a long time piecing together bits for my car its going to be put together on wednesday however i have just noticed that what i bought ( used ) as tial a28 only have 6 blades on the cold side as apposed to the 7 i thought they should have? They say garrett and tialsport on them. Ive taken pictures on my phone but as i access this site from my iphone 4s im not sure how to post pics. I will try though. Any help is appreciated thanks. Ps, on the inside of the outlet it is stamped 0.61

Those are the original A28s. They are 2860s with cast wheels in a Tial SS housing. They are a great street turbo. They spool like K16s but have a whole lot more power especially up top.
The newest A28 has billet wheels and is a 2868 with the Tial housing. They spool a little later but hit harder and have more up top than the originals.
Unless you are running a standing mile, I would stick with the original A28 over the newest one. Jake at Tial can upgrade those with the larger wheels for much less than the cost of a new turbo if you decide you want the new ones.

These turbos can easily push out 600 whp at 1.5 bar and conservative timing on your gas. On race fuel (over 100 US) they can get as much as 675 whp at 1.6 bar and more timing.

Wow, cant wait. I thought my standard car with flash and exhaust was quick but this should be a notable difference then! Oh i meant to ask, if i needed a new flywheel would you recomend lw or stock? Thanks again for all the great info

I have DM fly wheel but if I had it to do over I would go with a LW. As long as you don't mind the noise I would go LW. With 2860s every pound you can take off is important.

Wow... knew the state-of-the-art A2868 billet wheel, modern aero A28 turbos could get to 675 whp range - didn't know the older ones could. Good info!

the 2868's have done high 700's on a Porsche....note that it was in full kill mode and overly supporting modifications
