Looking to buy a 996T in Houston- HELP!

There is a 996TT at momemtum BMW in Houston. A black 03. I am considering putting an offer on it today but have no way to inspect the car. Can anyone help or does anyone have any suggestions ?

here is the link:

I'm in Austin and obviously can't make it there.

Even better, does anyone have any information or details about this car? What do you guys think of their asking price ?

thanks for any help you can provide in advance.

Have them take it to their Porsche dealer and get a PPI.

Good deal on that car at 52k, but i'm looking for a more modest street car without a cage and preferably in a non-silver color.

Well then contact Steve Ott at DriverSource in Houston (6 Speed Sponsor) and get a PPI.

there is a porsche dealer across the street i think?? seems a smidge high in my mind. looks like ceramic breaks and relatively low miles but thats it. no trim updates, no NAV, and looks like some scratches on shifter and some of other trim. i personally don't like gray interior and it seems like the gray interior is harder to sell and usually takes a hit. i paid $42 for mine 2 years ago this month with 27,300 miles, but that was private party. i wouldn't offer a dime more than $39K

pumptech - thanks for the response. Porsche across the street no longer does PPI's and incidentally neither does Steve at DriverSource.

well.....most anything i own is for sale!! unfortunately (IMHO) i do have a very clean problem free slate gray on black with black painted OZ supperleggera III's. still very low miles at 31,0?? bone stock (for some reason, but not for long). and the kicker is its tiptronic! it is getting much harder to find low mile examples of truly good 911TT and i expect low mile cars to begin to appreciate at some point. unfortunately I'm not at a point where i care or need to sell mine for any less than $45K even tho its not technically worth that!! that said, i wouldn't mind a speed yellow one.

my advice is wait for the one that IS the one

I can have the "cage" which is simply a roll bar out in less than 30 minutes. On pump gas this car will make 525-550whp. Enough to keep up with all the newer performance cars out there and not quite slow enough to show its 10 year age.

Steve has done multiple PPI's for me. Interesting. Do not buy a Porsche, espeically a higher mileage Tiptronic, without one.

Thanks Bmoores,

Steve talked about liability issues resulting from PPI's and that a competent visual inspection is as far as they can go. I don't blame him.

Can you shoot me an email at arayasam@rackspace.com -

maybe we can work something out on yours?

surely he doesn't consider my 31,000 miles high mileage! I expect that was a general statement. I would stay away from high mileage TT period.
