AfterFX Customs - Porsche 996 Twin Turbo

Just wanted to show you guys a clients car we have been working on for various upgrades. It is a 2003 996TT that we did a TechArt body kit with custom made side skirts, Champion wheels, Bilstein PSS10 coils, GT3 Carbon Ceramic brakes, turbo swapped etc...etc..., but the most recent addition was that of an iPad2 into the dash.

We handlaid the carbon fiber bezel which motorizes out so you can take the iPad out when you get out of the car. McIntosh amps, Audison Bit1, Morel Elate speakers. Let us know what you think.

Pretty slick. iPad2 as a head unit? What sort of sound quality are you getting from it (like is the sound pushed from the headphone plug to an amp or did you rig a 'dock' output for it? Is it integrated through the Audison?

Carbon work looks good.... A wee bit to much tech for me but nice work on the interior.

The front bumper does not fit right, the gap is bigger at the front of the fender than at the back. Marker light is slightly twisted.

Techart makes a great looking front bumper, the paint seems to match in the photos. I love my ipad, but that iPad CF bezel looks freakishly too big and out of place in the 996TT. Also, the PSS10's should give you more of a drop than that. Did you do a GT2 corner balance as well (it's a must)? I am not a fan of the side skirts, they appear too bulky.

Engine Guy you wrote this to me:
"Tim.... Treat people on here that disagree with you like you want to be treated in the Kingdom of Heaven." So how will you be treated in the kingdom of heaven?

Nice work not my speed though. How did you get the gt3 breaks to fit on the turbo wheel carriers or did you change the hats to turbo ones?

The side skirts are per customer request. They are from a 997 kit that we molded on. The front bumper has been beaten so many times by the client due to speed bumps in his housing community that it is a miracle it looks are good as it does...haha. As far as the brakes goes we ordered all the OEM parts for the GT3 brakes thru our local dealer and installed them, no real tricks to it. The iPad sound output is awesome....it is run out of the ipad and into the Audison Bit1. The car also has a WiFi router in it so that you have internet in the car and able to download directly to iTunes, browse the net, youtube, etc...

Can you give us the good stuff? What turbos, what tune, what other power mods? I would personally rather listen to the exhaust while I'm dragging some liter bike.

The rear rotors are not pccb's The front I can not see clear. But in the 350mm setup you can use 997tt steel rotors and gt2/3 calipers.. Is that what you did? And how about those engine mods?

Tim I said that to you in private and only after you rudeness and aggresive tone was continual for some time in the open forum. But thanks so much for pointing tht out to me., I am sorry you have been stewing over that so long. But you are the man whom claims openly in your profile to be a christian yet act like a kid that never gets what he wants. Grow up!

I commented on that work on the car, not on any person. No flaws of any person were point out. It was a reply to the original posters comment saying "Let us know what you think" My comments were both positve and negative and they were not rude at all.

You sir are man who lacks tact and self control.

To the originator of this thread, sorry for the poop in your thread.

This is the second time you claim that I claim in my ''profile to be a christian" Where is it that you see that? I am sorry that you think that pointing out flaws in someones work is not putting down them.. You are in need of a wake up call. Tact, self control?? You could have PM'd me? No? I would have but you never replied to my last PM to you. Enjoy you test bed car
