Wheel/ Rim/ Tire Question

so I've got a little problem with the offsets on my two piece Work wheels and I need to remove the wheel face from the hop.

Question- can I do it with the tire still mounted?

I started to do one wheel face and after removing most of the bolts there was suddenly a large gush of air escaping from the tire/lip interface.

Yes, in hind sight I realize I should have posed this question before venturing out but.....

thanks guys!

I would not do it. Low profile tires are STRONG and can force a deformation of the barrel, if there is nothing on the interior to support it. Torquing a multi piece wheel together is very important step.

But then I am pretty pretty exacting about rebuilding rims, and I use new hardware (bolts, ect) anytime I disassemble them. I have seen way to many pictures of cracked spokes, and bent barrel's from kids who took their rims apart for painting / powder-coating and did not assemble them correctly.
