Those are some serious specs for a car built back in 1989....almost 1000lbs lighter than our cars and with similar horsepower. Gotta be incredibly nimble...

wow I can only imagine how this thing feels at 4.7 lbs/hp power to weigh ratio must be insane. for comparison a Veyron is 4.3 lbs/hp. This thing is wild...

Would be interesting to see them race.

Wow, does bring back memories. Never saw the vid, thus thanks for sharing. I remember reading the article in R&T (I believe) and getting my first glimps of the surprising level of performance that could be extracted from a Porsche.

Definitely would not DD it.
I'd get a GT2 first, for less. If you're a collector - sure, go for it. Not my cup of tea as a driver.
(Please don't misinterpret my comments saying the car can't be driven - I mean that I wouldn't drive it, because I'd be afraid to wreck it, and I don't see fit to 'invest' in a car that I won't drive).

That is a sick display of driving skill at the 'rink in that youtube video. I love the shot at the 6:30min mark. You gotta love it, the driver's not wearing a hans, no helmet, just a T-shirt, jeans and loafers......going ***** out on a course that is not particularly forgiving if you go off track at those speeds...

What would be funny is if there was more than 6 of these 1-of-6 models...

I believe it's Stefan Roser, the test driver for RUF. I think he is with them to this day...
