Cool Price for 911 996 turbo spare key - I hope this help!

I just ordered another key with the remote to be cut by VIN number through Sunset Porsche and Audi. I spoke to BOB, nice guy. The price came out to be $209.76 + shipping. You need to fax over your registration along with your driver license.

Posting this so if anyone needs a spare key could get a ball park on how much it cost. I went this route instead of buying the uncut key through ebay. I think this is much safer and more convenience giving that I might have to pay a few extra bucks.

BTW, newport porsche in CA and las vegas porsche wanted $459 for everything (including reprogram) = expensive!!!
Now, all I need is to find a good indy shop around AZ, Las Vegas, or Orange County to reprogram my key. Can anyone guide me to the right shop? Thanks in advance.

PeterK is infamous around these parts
I thought that only the porsche dealer can reprogram it for you? My dealer in TX charged $200 for programming.
By the way, you can cut the key in any VW dealer for like $20.

If the indy shop has the tool then they can do it for cheaper...(forgot the name of the tool/software)

The dealers around my area charges roughly 130-150 to reprogram.

I got a PST2 (clone) and was able to program my own keys. It is not easy the first time... Here are some information that's involved. First thing , your new key(s) has to have a 24 digits code attach to it. Just below the bar code of the label that should be with the key. Second you need to have the IPAS codes for your car. The Porsche dealer can get them for you if you show identification + registration of the car (see pic, the codes should be on the right but I removed them)). And last you have to have all your keys when programming a new one. When you plug your PST2 or PIWIS and start programming it will ask for your IPAS code and after for each key you put in the ignition it will ask for you 24 digits number to program the remote and the key itself...

Thanks for the great tips. Unfortunately, I don't have the tools (PST2 nor PIWIS) to conduct the reprograming process.

I'll buy you a good dinner and beer too if you can bring the PST2 the next time you are in Toronto!

When I picked up my '03 the previous owner only had 1 set of keys. Went to local P-car dealer and was floored....
99653893200 (base key): $148
99663724442 (remote key head w/ alarm): $175
Reprogramming fee (labor): $125
TOTAL: $448!
I believe my first route will be to contact the previous owner and offer him $200 if he finds the old key. Next I'll try Sunset....I hate having just 1 key. Thanks for the tip and I'll investigate if another shop can do the reprogramming.
