Ice what are your goals? billet 15g's will do 500 on pump gas and 600 on ms109, 20g will do probably 50whp more but it will require a lot more support.

FlyingGuy,
Before I had bigger ICs, Y-pipe, TB and Plenum, I actually felt that those 71s were lack on top; maybe one of the reasons was because I have a Tip. With the bigger piping, the car feels much more alive on top. I don't know your driving habit, but my driving style is some freeway pulls (mostly under 140) and a lot of windy road. Those 71s really fit my style, a lot of low end, good mid-range, and decent high end.

I have a question, my 2871s are ball-bearings; if you convert yours to 71s, will they be ball-bearing?

I don't really have a HP goal so much. Obviously the higher the number, the better. But I do daily drive my car. I basically want as quick a car as I can without doing rods, having full boost at less than 4k ish. As far as numbers, I'd like to be as close to a 5.99 60-130, and would like to do a 10.99 1/4 mile, AWD if possible. I'd assume I need race gas for these goals, and I'm comfortable with that. I have spoken with Todd K in length about this, and have his suggestions well in mind. I'm just wanting to see what others think. His suggestion is utilize the hardware I have, and cram a 2871 inside. He has seen good results when those are pushed on race gas.

I believe that Blouch does a journal bearing 2871 to throw in these early generation A28... I'm still limited by the K16 hot side. Is this the same turbo you have?
Also, any thought on a billet alternative to cram inside here? I guess I could call Blouch about that...

Mines are the Garrett ball bearing GT2871s, pre-A28 turbos. I believe the A28 or billet have more potential; but if I have 28s (older) already, I won't even consider them. If you decide to do it, it's not a bad idea to do a dyno before and after; I'm really curious about the numbers. Good Luck.

I'd like to do a dyno pre and post. But I'd have to drive well out of town, at least an hour and a half. But we will see.

I have K1639's flow 39lbs 1 less than k2418g's
You could see the hot side just starting to choke and temps were just in specification. (A 4" IC would have cured that.)
We could have developed a K16/40+ but decided the hot side would be the problem . Overall these Turbos really really Rock and that's form some one with a full K2420g set up. He recons my car is quicker than his in the mid rev range.
My car was quicker than the factory GT2RS and quicker to 100 than a K2418g car ( testing at Bruntingthorpe Car Testing grounds)

911 Tuning 3 1/2" IC
911 Tuning soft intake
911 tuning tune
60 lb injectors
k&N
Racing dV's
Miltek 100 cell m/sport exhaust.

MKB BOX and TCU
PSS10's all round.

0-60 3 seconds ( have seen 2.8)
0-100 6.5
0-300kph 26.91
0-200 mph 34.17
