Strange wheel question. Can i run 10" rears?
During the winter I currently run 275/35/18 blizzak LM 60's on my stock 11" rears. The tires fit and tire rack gives their blessing that it's ok. The tires are stretched though and there's no doubt they would look better on a 10" wheel. I was looking at a 10" wheel with a 65mm offset. I would run a 17mm spacer with these to get be back to 48mm which is close enough in my opinion to the stock 45mm. But since the new wheel would be 10" vs 11", wouldn't i need a bigger spacer to adjust for that, in theory another 25mm to equal 1". I definitely don't want to run a 40+mm spacer, in fact i don't even know if you can buy something like that.
When I put in the info to willtheyfit.com, I get .6" less poke, and .4 inches less inset. Does that mean that instead of noticing the full inch, it would stick out by only less than .6"?
thanks

10" wheels are actually what Porsche recommends for winter sizing in the manual. I run 265/35/18 on OZ Alleggeritta wheels that are 10X18. I can't remember the offset, but I do have them on 15mm spacers.

nikolas,
The OZ Alleggerita's are the exact wheels i was thinking about getting. It looks as though OZ makes an 18x10 with a 40mm offset for widebody cars and and a 18x10 with a 65mm offset for narrow body cars.
How do they look on your car? Do you notice they don't stick out as far as the stock wheels. I just don't want to end up with a weird look with the wheels tucked too far into the wheel wells. I would be really interested to know what offset you have if you by chance have that info somewhere.
thanks

The OZ's in 40 and 50 ET fit fine. The rim range on the 275 is fine for the stock 11" wheel, but I do agree they do fit better on a 10" wheel. Many run 7 or 15mm spacers on the back, and the wells do give you room to do it on the 50mm ET wheels. There's no reason to run spacers on the 40 ET wheels. Remember to KEEP a little room back there between the fender and tire sidewall. That gives the snow a place to go instead of packing itself in too tight. Here's an 18" Allegerita:

I really like these as a winter wheel. Now it could just be the pictures, but in Damon's pic the rear wheels seem to be sticking out a little further than in Nicholas's pic.
Damon - any spacer on the rear wheel in the above picture you posted? I have the OEM 17mm spacers I used with the OEM sport techno's. I am still running the stock suspension, mostly b/c of winter driving. In the winter I do appreciate that extra inch of clearance from an aftermarket setup.
