Car Runs Better After Track Day?
I'd be interested in other opinions on this -- after spending a day at the track on Friday, I think my car actually runs better.
For example, I had some minor items show up recently with my car (e.g. some creaking in the clutch area; slight steering vibration with braking at higher speeds, etc.). I checked with the service guys and they told me that everything was good and there was nothing to worry about -- so I basically decided I'd live with it until it was time to replace the clutch and brakes down the road.
I can now report that after a day at the track, these annoyances have gone away. Clutch is quiet again, brakes feel great, and the engine even sounds smoother (OK -- that last one could be psychological).
So -- to all the garage queens out there -- I'd propose that you get your car out there and drive it hard (and safe, of course). These cars seem to like that much better than sitting around being stared at....
