What do you do for a living?

! I think many of us moonlight in our off hours in the same discipline. Some of us might even hold office hours during the day for amateur gynecological work.

Small business owner. Very profitable. Have always made money but 20 years in the same spot doing the same thing pretty well pays off like you wouldn't believe. Take care of 90-95% of your customers as best you can. Don't be afraid of pricing your product at a profit. Give people GOOD reasons for paying more than online suppliers or your competitors. I had 3 job goals when I graduated college in business. 1. never wear a suit. 2. The possibility of making a lot of money. 3. ability to take a lot of time off. Got all three but it took a lot of work. Don't waste your time/life. You should be either working or having fun. No sleeping until you are 40. Most people waste their life from 25-35, IMHO that is the most productive time. I get paid every day from the things I did during those years. You gotta put your time into your business and it really helps if you love it. I started my business 8 months after graduating college with honors. Marriage is a bad deal for a man. Don't have kids unless you want them, don't let a woman talk you into it. If you have kids suck it up and be the best dad you can be, sacrifice your time and money and put your needs second. Not last, but definitely second. Better yet, figure out how to get girls so you don't think the one you have is the only one your will ever get. 3 billion to choose from, don't make a bad choice and stick with it. Divorce is a wealth killer. Women change a lot as they age, you basically will be the same person you are today 20-30-40 years from now.

Good job kid. I'm a CPA, shareholder in my own firm and drive a 2004 991 Turbo Cabrio (22K miles) and a 2007 Jaguar XK Convertible and a 2011 Cadillac CTS AWD as my winter drive. Don't think my clients don't ask me if I am charging them too much. This is America, Hard work and dreams pay off.
I previously owned a 2002 911 Cabrio and started this habit back in 1998 with a brand new "Beginner's Porsche", a 1998 Boxster after owning 2 Corvettes. After all, I am in the Detroit area and need my American cars too.

I know some people still are not able to order a Turbo 991, much less a Cabriolet. But to see you've had yours for a while now is amazing.
(I'd think you had a number wrong, but since your an accomplished CPA, I figured you wouldn't miss that)

Read forums, emails, magazines, PMs, about new products, instructions for parts being installed, dynographs and the list goes on.
Also I talk on the phone a lot, talk to customers and friends when they are the store as well

No 996... yet, but I work in IT ( yay help desk ) with a self-focus in network security, going back to college to finish my degree in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering since I want to work in robotics/automation, OR, energy. I sort of want to ultimately be a philanthropist and help make life better for others in the world if possible.
Also considering on starting up a hydrographic company on the side.
