What do you do for a living?

My dream is to own a 996/997 GT3, GT2, or Turbo one day.
I'm currently in college studying accounting.

What kind of careers do Porsche owners have?
Did you go to college? What'd you study?
Do you like your job? Very curious...

I like this thread alot more the the "How much do you make?" threads. Some people still may be somewhat hesitant tho. Not me, I ain't shy! Haha.

I am a respiratory therapist. A very useful license to practice here in California's central valley! it was a 2 year program that included all pre-reqs and all necessary hours of clinical time, and multiple certifications. Studied mostly anatomy and physiology, with special attention given to the respiratory system and mechanical ventilation. The job is decent. it CAN be fun, but is nowhere near as exciting as working out in EMS on the ambulance was. but the pay is alot better for me in this field versus EMS.
it widely agreed that i wont be rich being an RRT, but i can live decently. i am very content (for now) to stay in the field and make what i make. I would like to get on a critical care transport team some day, and possibly branch into anesthesia someday if i get bored enough.

I'm a professional computer nerd for a defense contractor... and I do some freelance IT consulting as well as some pretty snazzy home theater installs on the side.

Oh and I dabble in the stock market some... in fact, my 996TT was made possible by a lucky stock pick back in 2009.

... and I TOO would be intersted in a spider monkey!

I'm in I.T., 46 years old. Not rich by any means, but comfortable. Been in my career/field for @20 years, very stable career.

Have kids college costs under control, home is established and maintained well - finally have some 'disposable' income.
We have no interest in owning multiple homes / vacation homes / boats.

I enjoy cars, so that is where my fun money will go. Some with more $$ may switch cars every few years, do tons of mods, etc. So the end result depends on you and your desires. There is no one answer.

Life is short - try to enjoy it without negatively affecting the other important components of your life.

I could not justify spending $100k for a car (for my situation)...but $50k = OK!

Accountants don't dream of 911's ..... they dream of upgrading their Accord to an Acura......someday.

I am a helicopter pilot. Never went to college, but no regrets, and it isn't over. Been at it for 23 years. Once you pay your dues, you can be comfortable, although never rich. I can't complain, but sometimes still dream of Carrera GT's, Aventadors, Ford GT's, spider monkeys etc. Still, I cannot complain. Life is good.

I'm also interested in a spider monkey. Cost is not an issue. I would prefer a mating pair.

I'm another IT guy. I run the Consulting group for a Fortune 500 in Denver. These days my Turbo rarely gets driven because I travel so much (millions of air miles a year) and then when I'm home, I'm a single dad and have my kids. I don't think my Turbo has left the garage in 3 months.
