My TX2K12 is over early. :(

I was able to run about 8-10 laps at MSR Houston today when I blew a coolant hose. Most likely its the same one everyone else eventually blows sooner or later.

I will be ready for the Texas Mile next week hopefully.

Less than two hours after blowing this coolant line, Steve has found the problem and will be dropping the motor and welding everything in soon. That's what I call service.

2001 21,000 miles I just knew this would happen. Should have welded these in two months ago when we were in there. Lesson learned.

Keith

I was in the middle of a long straight away in third gear I believe. No warning, just POP and then white mist.

Tough break there BHT. But now you know it'll never happen again. I made a shop appointment for next week to have mine welded too. Sooner or later, it's gonna happen guys.

Sorry about the misfortune! I wanted to be at TX2K since I live in TX but on vacation now. As I'm still rather new to these cars, it looks like a common issue. Does this problem affect all 996TTs or just certain years? Is there a preventative measure people take or most just wait out the inevitable?

It's common to the 996TT. I'm welding in new Billet fittings from BBI. And while we are there, we are adding the billet pulley.
