First Impressions: CM stage 3 w/flywheel & GT2 Slave conv.
So I thought I would give my first impressions of my new set up which includes the Clutchmasters stage 3 clutch with their light weight flywheel. I also opted for the GT2 slave conversion kit from EVOMS as this was a good time to do it while the trans was out. So I picked up my car yesterday after getting this done and all I can say is driveability feels the same or very close to stock. I dont know why people have said of the on/off feel of this set up but I dont feel that this is the case at all. Now this could be a result of the GT2 conversion helping this out as I was not a fan of the hydraulic crap they put in our turbos originally as I felt that didnt give a good feel of engagement with the stocker anyways. Yes clutch pedal is stiffer with the conversion but feels great after about 10 mins of driving and I personally like it much better. Now the flywheel does chatter a bit in neutral with clutch pedal out but its not as bad as I would have thought. I've seen in other posts that a light flywheel is harder to drive than the dual mass I personally dont find that to be the case one bit. I can start off from a dead stop incline/decline/flat with no problems at all with stalling or any other issues. I was really suprised to hear that others claimed to have such issues with light weight flywheels. again a lot may have to do with the GT2 conversion. I had a light weight flywheel on my ol M3 and never had issues either. So at the present moment all I can say is the cars clutch/flywheel feels better than stock and I'm extremely happy with it. I will post some vids of the noise from in and out of the car later today or tomorrow so you guys out there on the fence about getting a new clutch and or flywheel set up will have and idea of how loud it is. I wiil also post later after the clutch breaks in and I can start romping on it to see if it gets louder with break in and age. All I can say is off the bat this is a great set up!

I installed the exact same set up. I have been waiting to post my impressions until I have a few miles on it. I was thinking this is too good to be true. With all the talk about it being grabby and noisy. Now after 200 miles it is still great. Engagement is right off the floor. I can idle and get off in first gear no problem. I don't hear any flywheel noise, but I do have a 3" catless exhaust.
Great clutch flywheel set up.

All of the CM stage 3's are not the same. There are some differences, none of which I can remember. Mine is tricky to get going, that is for sure. Clutch engagement is high and very narrow. But it's strong as an ox and I'm used to it so it doesn't bother me.

True rumors have it that only certain suppliers claim they carry the "fiber tough" stage 3 and that it's only exclusive through them. In actuality CM makes all there stage 3 clutches with fiber tough for Porsches unless you specify you want Kevlar. And yes the only other option is a 3600# or 3900# pressure plates. If the part # ends in FF its fiber tough. Heavy did you do the GT2 conversion?

The LWF is trickier to engage without the GT2 conversion. The GT2 conversion provides the feel you need to modulate precisely, thus making the LWF relatively easy and uneventful to drive. It requires a lot more concentration with the OEM clutch hydraulics vs. the GT2 conversion.

The first ClutchMasters#20-934-HDF which was the same that Vivid calls there Stage 3,as told by Luis at CM,grabbed very high and was more so like a on /off switch...I had the stock dual mass flywheel..

John, did you put in your new clutch yet? If not you might want to go for the GT2 conversion while your in there. Stiffer pedal but much better engagement.

Hi,Thanks but when I removed that assist spring from the clutch pedal it did just enough to make it a bit more livable.I like the feel...

It's a great clutch. But I'll be selling mine soon. Upgrading to a Road Race clutch. Probably Tilton or Quartermaster.

John, I'll just throw this out there....IMO, Listen to Ron :-) If you like the clutch better with just the spring removed, you will not believe the improvement with the GT2 conversion. It's on a whole different level (so much better).

Well guys, I'm in this too, and no backing out now. The car is currently in the shop and getting a stage 4 set, lwfw, and GT2 conversion, along with a bunch of other mods. I'll let you know my impressions of the new clutch in a few weeks.
