Big turbo setups questions?

I'm planning on doing alpha 3076's in a few weeks. I was wonder how all the big turbo cars are holding up. How many of you have bent rods or popped to engine. If you did at what power level. How many miles on the car? How long did you have the turbos for. How much boost were you running. Any helps appreciated. If you don't want to post it on here PM's are welcome. Thanks.

IMHO, if you do alphas keep it at 650 whp or under (under 1.4 bar) to be safe. Plan on upgrading the rods if you want your car to last. If you do a lot of "digs" or drag racing that will stress the rods even more. If you want to make around 700 whp make sure the tune is PERFECT and you maintain the car. You can just slap parts on and beat the car and expect nothing to go wrong.

if all the mods, software are ok, also car maintained I would pay special attention to octane first and not going too high with boost secondly (or to respect your tuner instructions), a3076s aren't so aggressive to rods as far as I know (a28 hit sooner and gt35 are much bigger).

I hope to switch the key tomorrow on my new a3076 setup... i am really afraid about smth going wrong and testing everything twice meantime, this thread will help me too, thanks OP

Yea I'm thinking if I do 1.2 on pump and 1.4 or race. All I do is hwy racing and none from digs so I should be good at that level. I was hoping to hear some more responses. Where the big hp guys at?

Fuel most important. as long as you dont starve the motor and keep the torque down on the controller your safe for a while.

Car was built in '07 by Knighton for previous owner with 3076's. Makes 732whp at 1.50-1.55 bar. Never had it turned up any higher.

No issues. I alway make sure proper fuel for boost setting and the tune is safe.

yes fuel is important but stock I beam rods start deforming with high boost and high torque. surprisingly alot of them still hold and guys dont know until they take them out.

I ran the TX Mile (206 mph) and a few dragstrip(143) passes there. About half of my daily driving is done at that boost level. I rotate in pump gas. Car is very fun at 1.1 bar on pump gas. About 550whp.

yeah no doubt - car's got the advertised power easily trapping 143. i am just curious how much beating it got on the street at that boost. i can guarantee you that if you beat it nicely for 4 years and it's on stock rods - you would be able to tell difference between the rods if you opened your motor

This is just a thought that may not be valid...Wouldnt 3071's fit the bill if you are worried,Plus I would think they would work better if you didnt go to full supporting mods like you would have to make the 3076's worth it???....I have been in one that had almost identical supporting mods as my K24/18's and it was very impressive...

I like the 76's more for top end and figured that little more lag would help a tad more for the rods
