Just tryin to see if either paint matching them to the body or removing them would look good at all. Anyone got pics of either?

Go to bumperplugs.com. He sells them and has pictures.

if you remove them you are left with big holes in your bumper and large aluminum brackets sticking out, i have seen a modified bumper with them removed and it looks nice and clean buit its a lot of work

Bumperplugs does not offer a solution for this. I called Eric at bumperplugs a couple years ago and verified this. Bumper repair or new bumper is the only solution. I guess you could try having them painted but i've never seen it done.

Like he said. There is no simple solution. My car has them and i've taken the bumper off to look. There will be a couple holes and a long slot hole on each side. You can have the bumper repaired or do like i did and source a stock turbo bumper without the bumperettes. Then you just need to buy new grills for each side.

bumperplugs offer rear painted bumperettes, i think its approx 250-300 bucks plus a core exchange, they are very easy to remove and re-install

Guess it would if i had read the question closer.

I had mine painted to match the body by a highly recommended paint shop. I think its the easiest way to go, cheap and you keep the OEM look if thats what your into.

When you take them off you have brackets in the bar. I cut mine off and had just black mesh grill there for some time. Eventually I had the bumper plugged and smoothed out. Its a good amount of work, for me it was worth it. I have to say that if you do keep them definitely at least get them paint-matched so they don't stick out. This really is not a big deal, won't make you go any faster, but it looks really clean.

I guess i'm the only one but I actually kinda like them black and they are functional... I've see a few scratches on them over the past years and know those scratches would have been on my paint of those were not there... but if you don't want them black just drop them off at any body shop to paint... They take 30 seconds to remove.

Thank you for the pictures without the bumperettes...not sure I've ever seen that before in pictures.

I painted mine for ~$40 in materials.
couple bucks for some rubbing alcohol and a microfiber to clean them up a bit
adhesion promoter - $8
color matched paint mixed into an aerosol can from a local paint shop - $15 (you can find them online for a bit more from sites like automotivetouchup)
spray can clear coat - $10
They've held up for 2 and a half years and several washes so far. The deleted and molded ones do look a lot better though.
I actually bought 2 of everything just in case and had plenty to do the front lip as well. I do have some painting experience but think it's a pretty simple diy. Looks good up close. Don't think either are pieces you could really mess up unless the color is way off.
