What is your floor-to-wheel-arch ride height front / rear

My car just got a new set of PSS10. All other suspension parts are OEM ROW -turbo parts. My car is going to shop for aligment re-check in two weeks. Ride height will be adjusted also. Right now ride height is set as follows (measured from carage floor to wheel arch):

front 65cm (25.6 inch)
rear 65cm (25.6 inch)

I would like to know which ride heights other 996TT owners have? Floor to wheel arch measurement is an easy measurement to take. Please post your measurement even if you have different suspension. Remember to mention which suspension you have and what other suspension component upgrades you have.

I know front should be slightly lower than rear - but how much is enough?

There is very little leeway in ride height when using the PSS10 kit. If you read the PSS10 installation instructions you will find out that Bilstein is very specific in requiring that front ride height be set at 85-95mm from the center of the mid strut mounting bolt to the top of the lower spring perch and in the rear 205-210mm. In other words, you have a 10mm adjustment range in the front and 5mm range in the rear. If you go lower you will generally bottom out the bump stops and get a lot of porpoising which is what people commonly complain about here. SET THE RIDE HEIGHT ACCORDING TO BILSTEIN SPECIFICATION FOR BEST PERFORMANCE...

I say forget about the ride heights and just do a good corner balance while you doing the alignment. The heights may be off between left and right, but the car will drive right.

Shouldn´t front be a bit lower than rear for downforce in high speeds? I remember front being 0,5cm (0.2 inch) lower than rear on OEM ROW suspension.

Or maybe my front was sagging a bit before new suspension...?

Front being even a bit higher than rear allows air under car and may cause loss of stability on high speeds, I think. I drive +150mph speeds on autobahn and like to think I have the downforce I need to stay on ground.

I´d appreciate if somebody could measure OEM ride height front/rear and post results (with OEM tire sizes).

My car is the only TT in town and I dont know any other TT owner in person (very rare cars here, difficult to make comparisons).

Guybrush- you're among the lucky to be able to drive at those speeds without worrying about the police. Wish we had roads like that here, but I doubt most people would be responsible with that opportunity if it was available.

I see youre in OC. I am a former CSUF -student, lived in Fullerton and used to drive a lot around CA with my Olds Cutlass Cieera 1985 model! Ejoyed the roads and especially scenery along the coast.

Driving pedal to medal requires a bit of travelling, 24 hour trip in a ferry to Germany. It is quite inexpensive and fun too. Knowing the driving fun that awaits makes the trip a must every now and then.

Uschoice, would you make me glad and take some floor to wheel arch measurements for me?

Guybrush- Small world; I'm near CSUF myself. You should see the campus now. It's forever getting larger.
I'll get you those measurements this weekend after I pick up my car from the shop. I still have the stock suspension and wheels, so you can get a reference. My next mod is going to be either pss10's or KWv3's with a front lift kit.

Your request for OE stats.
The last U.S. spec I had was 148-168 front at the bolt head.....and 152-172 rear at the flat spot on the rear sub frame. These were the off-road incredibly high numbers.

Recalling the ROW/X73/GT3/GT2 specs....all much lower, with GT3 30-40 lower.

All specs have rake (lower front) with the OE Turbo having the least dif of all.....most all others have 10-12 dif from rear to front. IMHO it does affect handling.....at least on the track.

My car is set quite low at 109 and 120.

My car is a stock suspension 01 911 Turbo and the front sits considerably higher than the rear. Measuring from the ground to the center portion of fender measures 26.25 in the rear and 26.75 in the front. I am guessing that the rear springs are sagging do to the weight of the engine and the front end is raising in spite of that. I would like to buy a set of front coilovers to lower the front of the car to match the rear but I do not see any companies selling just a front set of coilovers.. Any suggestions ?
