Aftermarket warranties 996
#16
I just bought an '01 with 49k miles(I know I need to get this done fast.. like 650 miles fast!) and have found 2 companies and would love any feedback from anyone. By the way, Warranty Direct is a ****** @ss, stay the hell away from those guys.
1. LaSalle Assurance Warranty
2. Motorcars Financial
I would love to hear if anyone on these boards have any history or feedback on either one of these.
Good luck bro, I have had mine for like 48 hours and when not driving I walk into my garage and just look at it.

I also have a warranty through Fidelity and they're awesome. Mine is an '04 X50 I bought almost 3 years ago with 28k miles on it. I got the same Platinum warranty as John with the $100 deductible and bumper to bumper coverage, though mine is only for 4 year/48k miles. It cost me $3,300 I think.
So far I've had 3 issues and they paid for nearly everything and I never had to even call them other than the first time to find out what shops I could use that are approved to do work for them. Once I found a shop, I gave the shop Fidelity's number and I've never talked to them again.
Alternator - Went out at about 48k miles. Have AAA so it was towed to shop for free. Total $1300? or so - Paid ~$350 which included $100 deductible plus $200 for new battery (not covered) plus tax and a few random disposal fees or something like that.
Blown head unit (with nav) - Total $1500? Paid $100.
Blown O-ring on the oil cooler system as a result of no specific problem. Required dropping the engine to replace it. Total $4,000 or so - paid $100

This is for you Quick. I could not reply to your private message because I have less than fifteen post.
I test drove the 996 at Audi of Arlington Va.
I also call a few credit unions like USAA, they will give a warranty if they vehicle is less than seven years old and you don't have to finance through them to purchase the warranty. I believe its much cheaper. My brother has a GT-R and he paid $1200 for 7 years 100,000 bumper to bumper through his credit union.
