DIY Tranny Mount

DIY Tranny Mount
Yet another thread on the tranny mount. I'm a new owner so I did what everyone here did and pulled the tranny mount. Yes it was busted. So I bought the Torque Solution's solid mount. Very happy with the purchase. But if your budget is tight, and you only have some tears/cracks, you can do this. Fill it with windshield sealant. If you have some lacquer thinner or prep solvent, the clean up is a cinch.

And the third option is to buy urethane bushings large enough and get them milled to proper size and replace stock rubbers. Depending of DIY's amount the cost is around $100-200.
CAUTION: Will cause interior noise. Even more if you have urethane rear engine mounts and LWFW like I do.

Another option is to fill your existing mount with urethane. This topic has been done on other cars many times - same principles.
Years ago I did my Audi A4 mounts using the following products:
Forsch Rubber to Urethane Primer (McMaster Part # 8644k31) - $16
Forsch 94a Urethane (McMaster Part # 8644k18) - $26
(not sure if part numbers are the same today - this was years ago) The key was the Urethane hardness - Window sealant is not hard enough.
Basically, prep the mount, mix your urethane, pour into mount, let dry - reinstall mount. simple.
