Thanks

Hi there, i just bought a bluetooth enabled datalogger that plugs into the port but has no cables, it sends to your laptop or windows phone via bluetooth. I am expecting delivery in a few days and will keep you posted if it works with any other software. check it out ELM 327 bluetooth obd reader

Kevin's looks neat. It takes 21 preset values. Not all of these are actual values. Many (such as the knock sensoring for each cylinder) are formulas he has come up with. He told me any people with tuned cars see knocking on his datalogging when durametric shows it to be fine. Kevin said that Durametric actual values are not 100% accurate, they may be scaled. He told me the actual values on his data logger (such as load), will be different than what is showing on a durametric.

I´ve got UMW data logger. Very easy to datalog. I have 3 tunes I can swap with it. Stock, flash for low grade fuel and flash for high grade fuel. UMW will send you an inexpensive cable labelled as diagnostic cable. Everything else you will get online.

I do not want his tuning, i just want data logging. I am also concerned that my info will be uploaded to his server, when I just want to use it for logging.

Tuning is a separate deal. He will not have an access to your ecu file unless you e-mail the file to him. What you will get is a cable to plug the car into your laptop and a software to install on your hard drive to datalog. The software creates files that you can analyze on Excel workbook. The software is also able to read your codes and reset them.

You can also see it live (as you drive) in a graphical way that is easy to read? (like if you have a friend in the car etc..)

Thanks

UMW data logger is a very high speed data logger recording a lot of data. You can watch it live but to see what is happening you better have someone else drive the car and focus on watching the live data. Another way is to record and then play back before saving the logged data. I havent tried the play back function yet.

Within couple of minutes you will get more than 10.000 rows of excel sheet data. The unit records log on very high speed.

What variables are you planning to log? UMW's kit is pretty slick, but if you don't plan to use his tunes, Durametric is still a cheaper and versatile option. Durametric also allows you to test individual components/modules in your car.

how are its datalogging capabilities?

The generic tuning devices will likely be as fast as a durmetric at best

i was wondering your experience. The durmetric and the kevin high speed logger were specificially made for the Porsche.

The generic ones only pull generic info. They will not pull the injector cycles for example.

What things do you look at for your porsches? Are you able to see a/f for both banks? What about the boost sensor? What about what boost the car is requesting?

Thanks
